Lili's 2022 Reading Challenge
Mount TBR Reading Challenge
The challenge: To read books you have owned prior to January 1, 2022.
I have not been doing terribly great at reading books I own, so if I can get to 36 I'll be happy. Lol.
Level chosen: Mt. Vancouver — Read 36 books from your TBR pile.

Virtual Mount TBR Reading Challenge
The challenge: To read books from your virtual TBR/wish list.
This year I decided to do this one because the number on my Want to Read shelf keep going up and up and up and I really need to get it under control 😅
Level chosen: White Plume Mountain — Read 48 books from your Virtual TBR/Wish List/Library.

Finish the Series Reading Challenge
The challenge: To finally finishing those series that you’ve started but not yet completed. Series can be already completed as well as still ongoing. For ongoing series, the goal is to catch up to the most recent book published by the end of 2022.
My never ending quest to finish series. Lol. I'm attempting to finish at least 9 once again in 2022. I did pretty good in 2021, so let's hope I get a couple more done this year.
Level chosen: A-List Series Finisher — Finish 9+ Series

New Release Reading Challenge
I'm not the best at reading new releases, hence this challenge. Lol. In 2021 I read 13 new releases, which is pretty great for me! However, I don't trust myself reading any more than that this year, so I'm gonna go for a nice, round 10 to aim for in 2022.

Non-fiction Reading Challenge
This challenge I added very last minute. Last year I ended up reading 4 non-fiction books, which is 3 more than my usual annual number 😅 The reason why I decided that I want to read more non-fiction books this year is because I really want to pick up more Japanese language learning books, and I'm hoping this challenge will push me to do just that. My goal is to read 5 non-fiction books in 2022 of any subject (but preferably of the language learning variety.)

52 Books in 52 Weeks
I attempted this challenge in 2021 and I almost completed it, except I missed 2 weeks in August 😩 I am hoping that in 2022 I actually manage to read one book a week.

Looks great Lili! You'll have to share any good language learning books! Japanese would be a cool thing to start learning.
I've been learning Japanese for just over two years now and it has been a lot fun! It is a very difficult language to learn, but I've been enjoying the challenge.

Favorite read of the month was definitely Chain of Gold. I just love the Shadow World and I really enjoyed getting to know the new characters, which I loved. It was a little hard keeping them all straight in the beginning because there's so many characters, and especially a bunch of Lightwoods. Lol. Another favorite was Heartless! Wonderland is always fun to visit, and an origin story on the Queen of Hearts is something I didn't know I needed. Lol.

😅 I've been a sci-fi kick since last fall, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down yet. Lol. I do hope you enjoy at least some of them! Space Janitor is really fun! They're almost like cozy mysteries, but sci-fi!

It was fun! It was ridiculous and funny and I surprisingly enjoyed it. It's not the type of book I would usually pick up.
Almost forgot about June stats 😅 This month I read 4 books, 3 novellas, and 2 graphic novels. It sounds like a lot, but this is a total of 1532 pages, which is about 500 pages less than last month.

I think my favorite book of June was The Hunt. I just like the idea of an alien/human hybrid basically running for her life lol. The ending was a little predictable, but I enjoyed it overall.
I just got back from vacation, so July stats are a little late 😅 This month I read 5 books and 1 novella, and a total of 1797 pages, which is about 200 pages more than last month.

Yay for vacation! How was it?
Which one was your favourite? Also nothing wrong with being a few days late on stats! I still haven't done mine for June lol so you're ahead of me!

It was good! I went to Omaha for my cousin's wedding.
My two favorites are Game and Only Bad Options!
That's fair 😂

I read 6 books this month (3 re-reads) for a total of 1894 pages, which is about 100 pages more than last month. Honestly, I loved all the books I read this month. But if I were to exclude re-reads (cause obviously they're favorites, otherwise I wouldn't have re-read them lol), then I'm gonna go with Sugar Plum Spies. Who's surprised that it's the Jennifer Estep book? 😆
