In October I read 6 novels, 2 novellas, and 1 comic book, for a total of 9 books and 2384 pages. That's about 700 pages less than last month. But last month was a bit of an outlier since I did A LOT of re-reading 😅 This month I only ended up re-reading 2 books.

Vampiric Vacation by Kiersten White Rolling in the Deep (Rolling in the Deep, #0.5) by Mira Grant Haints and Hobwebs (Elemental Assassin, #4.7) by Jennifer Estep Maniac of New York The Bronx Is Burning The Complete Second Volume by Elliott Kalan Into the Drowning Deep (Rolling in the Deep, #1) by Mira Grant Poison Promise (Elemental Assassin, #11) by Jennifer Estep Fallen Wishes (Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper #17) by J.L. Bryan Mere Mortals by Erin Jade Lange Paola Santiago and the River of Tears (Paola Santiago #1) by Tehlor Kay Mejia

Of the 9 books, 6 were adult, 1 YA, and 2 MG. And 4 were horror, 4 urban fantasy, and 1 mystery thriller.

Nice Lili! Yay for horror mermaids! Going to read more of Mira Grant's (Seanan McGuire) stuff?

Definitely!! I really enjoyed Into the Drowning Deep, and I am very intrigued by Feed. I'll have to look through her books to see what else catches my attention.

I definitely think you should read Feed. I love everything she writes, if you're looking for a fun different UF series try Discount Armageddon (InCryptid, #1) by Seanan McGuire only series I wouldn't recommend starting with is Ghost Roads.

In November I read 7 books, 2 of which were re-reads, for a total of 2506 pages. That's about 200 pages more than I read in October!

Black Widow (Elemental Assassin, #12) by Jennifer Estep The Earth Concurrence (Colonial Explorer Corps, #1) by Julia Huni Six Wakes by Mur Lafferty The Grissom Contention (Colonial Explorer Corps, #2) by Julia Huni The Do-Over by Lynn Painter Better Than the Movies by Lynn Painter Spider's Trap (Elemental Assassin, #13) by Jennifer Estep

4 books were part of a series, and 3 standalones.

5 were 5-star reads, 1 book 4-stars, and 1 book 3-stars, so it was a really good reading month overall!

All were from female authors, 5 books from authors I've read before, and 2 new-to-me authors.

5 were adult books and 2 YA, 3 sci-fi, 2 urban fantasy, and 2 contemporary romance. Contemporaries, shocking, I know. Lol.

Another shocking stat: while 6 were ebooks, 1 was an audiobook! I don't tend to read audiobooks because my mind wanders and I miss things and it's just annoying. Lol. BUT I ended up listening to my audiobook of Spider's Trap, which was fine in this case because this was a re-read so if my mind wandered it was no big deal because I've read this book before. Lol.

Awesome stats Lili! How was Better than the movies?
Very surprising about the audiobook!

Right? I totally get the appeal of audiobooks because you can just be doing things while listening, and I think re-reads/re-listens for me might be the way to go with audiobooks.

Better than the Movies was cute! I really enjoyed it! I think I liked The Do-Over a little more, but they were both really fun and cute.

Yay for fun and cute.
For sure, rereads is how I started with audios originally too

That's also how I started with audios Lili. I used to be the same where my mind would wander so I used to only do it for re-reads as, like you said, it didn't matter. Now almost 1/3 of my reading is done via audio.

message 63: by Gord (new)

Gord | 1000 comments I had the same issue with my mind wandering while listening to audiobooks. I started listening to them while going for walks and now I'm hooked and I listen to at least one audiobook a week depending on the length.

message 64: by Jo (new)

Jo Elliott | 1838 comments I started listening to audiobooks mostly on my morning commute to work on the bus and I've never looked back: now I listen on my weekly runs and when walking around basically anywhere as well as when I'm on public transport. I've always liked listening to something when walking though so it wasn't too much of a shift to go from music/podcasts to audiobooks.

So I may have found the gateway to audiobooks because I listened to another one in December that was also a re-read. Lol.

In December I read 5 books and 1 novella, for a total of 1591 pages.

Crazy Foolish Robots by Adeena Mignogna Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister The Trouble with Tinsel (Space Janitor #2.5) by Julia Huni How to Survive Your Murder by Danielle Valentine Four Found Dead by Natalie D. Richards My Secret to Tell by Natalie D. Richards

2 were 5-star books, 2 were 4-star books, and 2 were 3-star books
2 were adult and 4 YA
2 sci-fi, 4 mystery thrillers
4 ebooks, 1 hardcover, 1 audiobook

Awesome Lili! rereads area great on audio. Best book of the month?

I really enjoyed both Wrong Place Wrong Time and Four Found Dead. Both mystery thrillers, but one adult and one YA, and the former has the added time loop aspect which is always fun. Lol.

For anyone who's interested, I posted my reading stats on my blog: https://lili-lost-in-a-book.blogspot.... There's about a million graphs and charts, sorry not sorry 😆

message 70: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6446 comments Mod
Fun graphs and stuff Lili! The series started vs finished, ouch! But it happens to us all. Also wow that you read nothing published before 2010!

message 71: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
Yeah, this was a weird year where I didn't read anything before 2010. I usually do! But no R.L. Stine in 2022, surprisingly! Yeah finishing series i really struggled with! Hopefully I'll do better this year, but who knows what my mood will be like lol
