I'm currently about 30% through the book and so far, I'm liking it. Not one I want to rush through but it will go quick.
I finished this one last week - I was somewhat underwhelmed by the book. It started out well and I even enjoyed the POCs. That last section was both beautiful and also somewhat comical. I think I expected more from the book and the characters - I felt sad for some of them but by the end, it felt like something was missing. Still, I'm glad for having read it.
I feel like this book was super good!! Definitely exceeded my expectations! 4.5 stars—the only thing I can remark on is that the POV change from first to third really jarred me, but that’s just nitpicking.
I didn’t get the ending at first either, but I think it’s deliberate that Orange included a massacre. So much symbolism behind that too, so I’ll honestly praise it no matter how unsatisfying it looks.
