Today, I heard one of my professors talking to someone, and they were like "look at that guy, although he can't see, he is soo smart". What the fuck? like how is that even related?

people have this tendency to pity people with disabilities cuz they think that because they're disabled now, there's something 'permanently wrong' with them, and they judge every move of that person based on that.. people talking about someone being smart despite being disabled is so absurd, because smartness is like a virtue. how can you relate that to your medical problem? i mean just because you're disabled doesn't mean that there's something wrong with your mind, and idk why people are like that, it's just exhausting!

True. Also, for me personally, the society expects something different from me. just because I have a disability, I have to show people that I'm worth living, and contribute something to the society.
I mean, the number of people that have told me I should achieve something in life, because I have a disability is is uncountable.
I don't really know if the society is ever going to treat us as equals, and not as subhumans.
