Dude yessss! Firefox is one of the best alternatives to chromium based browsers available on the web browser market.
So Chromium browser is an open source project developed by Google. Chromium is like a house with just four walls and no rooms or anything else in it, and browsers that are built using the chromium's source code are like houses built with all the different rooms that you need in a house.

And cookies are these small pieces of text info that sites store about users. For instance, when you ask Goodreads to remember your password, while logging in, Goodreads stores a cookie with that info, so that you don't have to enter your password and email ID every time you visit GR.

So basically, softwares where the source code is freely available and can be modified by anyone is known as open source software. It'll help the developers to find and patch bugs more easily and quickly. Some examples for open source softwares include: Android (yest the operating system that runs on TVs, phones, and many other gadgets), the Brave Browser, VLC Media Player, LibreOffice, and so many more.
