I just started , and I'm not very far into it, so I'd like to finish it before starting this anyway, and my weekend is pretty busy, so I won't have much time to read, so I'm fine with waiting.

I started this today, and I read the first 5 chapters. I'm really liking it so far, and it's interesting to read about a topic that I know just about nothing about.

I've read through chapter 10 now, and I'm really liking this.

Vee (view spoiler)[I'm not a fan of Vee. She was insulting the bikini that Kristin wore, even though she's supposed to be her friend. And now, Kristin told her that she intersex, and she laughed, which isn't a good reaction to a friend sharing something like that with her. (hide spoiler)]

I've now read through chapter 15. This is such a quick and good read.

Sam's mom (view spoiler)[She doesn't know yet that Kristin's intersex, so Vee must be lying about that whole thing where she said that her mom must have told Sam's mom. If Sam finds Kristin in his house, I feel like it wouldn't be good. (hide spoiler)]

It arrived!!! I just have to pick it up today and hopefully I'll have a chance to read a little tonight, but I get home around 3:30 and I have to leave at 4:30 because I'm going to the annual yearbook advisers' dinner. I'll probably get home around 9:00. If I don't get started tonight, I'll definitely start tomorrow.

Finished chapter 5. This book is hard to put down! I'm like you because I have never read anything about this subject either. It really is interesting.

I can't read your spoilers because I can't access my computer until tomorrow, so I will just post my comments and read yours tomorrow when I can get on my computer at school.

Kristen and Sam (view spoiler)[ are adorable together. I felt so bad for her when they were trying to have their first sexual intercourse experience and it was so painful for her. My concern for her right now is how Sam will handle it when he finds out.

I have always assumed that and intersex person would know it. I think that Kristen's response to hearing that she is probably intersex will certainly less emotional than I thought it would be. I can't imagine going to a doctor in being told that I have boy parts and me and two hernias that might be testicles. (hide spoiler)]

Because I am doing this on my phone I am not going to post any more tonight. You know how it is when you're trying to type a lot on your phone. So I will read your posts tomorrow as soon as I can and respond to them.

Finished Ch. 10 and I agree with your spoilers.

Vee (view spoiler)[definitely reacted in a negative way; however, she'd been drinking, and the timing and circumstances under which Kristin told her weren't ideal either. I wasn't happy with Vee's response, but I think she might have thought that Kristin was joking. Again, considering when Kristin told her the situation was all wrong. Given all else that we know about Vee so far, I'm not terribly fond of her either. I just hope she can be trusted not to blab because I DO think she is jealous of Krisin. (hide spoiler)]

Maggie (view spoiler)[ is a godsend! I'm so glad that Kristin has her to talk to and that Kristen listened to her dad and checked out that website. (hide spoiler)]

Kristin's dad (view spoiler)[does have a difficult situation. No woman/mother for Kristin and men (sorry to say) are so clueless when it comes to feminine issues (bras, menstruation, etc.). I do think that he is trying his hardest to be the "mother" she needs as a single parent. I give her dad kudos for not flipping out on the doctor or being in denial. I like that he took initiative and looked into intersex. (hide spoiler)]

This book is SO good! I already have learned things I never knew and have had some of my assumptions dispelled.

I was worried that (view spoiler)[Sam would do exactly what he did. If he didn't, it would probably turn to his being bullied and teased. I don't even want them back together because his initial response was WAY to cruel and heartless. I could see them making up, but he doesn't deserve her. (hide spoiler)]

I was worried (and still am) when (view spoiler)[Krissy got so sick. I wondered if her body was fighting something like an infection. I hope she is okay. (hide spoiler)]

Dr. LaForte (view spoiler)[ will have a stabilizing effect on Krissy, I think. I'm glad that she's helped her by giving her things to do that were cathartic for her. I think she might be key in helping Krissy accept herself and even celebrate in her uniqueness. (hide spoiler)]

I also think that Krissy's dad's (view spoiler)[running with her could be invaluable just because she needs grounding. I love her dad. (hide spoiler)]

Gretchen (view spoiler)[I liked how she understood what Krissy is going through, and also how she showed that there are different intersex experiences, and by that I mean that not every intersex person is straight. She showed how some can be straight and some can be lesbian as well, and also how being intersex does not make Kristin lesbian as well. (hide spoiler)]

Krissy (view spoiler)[seems to finally be doing some positive things for herself that will help her "move forward." I'm so glad for Maggie and Gretchen. It seems obvious that her intersex experience is just as individual as any straight, gay, or bi experience, but she's still so young. I'm glad that Gretchen speaks her mind and tells it like it is. I really wonder if (view spoiler)[Darren and Krissy will get together. My only problem would be Becky. I sure don't want them to get together at Becky's expense, so if they do I hope the author figured out a way to make us like Darren and Krissy even more. (hide spoiler)]

Josh (view spoiler)[ was an obvious jerk from the get-go because he wanted sex right away! I had bad vibes! What he did to her at the club was horrible. He should have gotten a punishment! (hide spoiler)]

I finished this toady, and I really loved it. This helped me understand what intersex means so much more, since I barely knew anything about it at all before reading this.
