I finished Scepters by L.E. Modesitt Jr. and I have decided to switch my next book to Wonton Terror by Vivien Chien since I need a lighter read and no one else is working on a book for the food tag. My son came down with the stomach flu today so I just read and took care of him. Hopefully, it is just a 24 hour bug and no one else gets sick. If I get sick then, I'm not sure how much more reading I'll get in. Also, my instant pot went out though I was able to cook some homemade chicken noodle soup.

Today I'm reading A Room of One's Own, which we can use for nonfiction, and The Night Diary, which could work for young adult or a couple other spots. After that I will try one of the books I have for Italy, but I don't know if I'll be in the mood for those - if not, I'll read some books that might not fit open shelves but at least the pages will count for wild cards!
I finished Mexican Gothicand put it in for Mexico. My husband and I listened to seven hours of The Lightning Thief. Hopefully we’ll finish that today or tomorrow and I can slot it for mythology. I have a book I’m interested in reading that is set in Malaysia so I might do that one next.
Roxana wrote: "Finished A History of Wild Places and put it in for cover-love. Not sure what I'm reading next..."How was it? I should be getting it soon from the Library, not sure if I should change my hold date or make it a priority :)
I finished Murder Book: A Graphic Memoir of a True Crime Obsession. I added it to graphic novel. I was so excited for this but it wasn’t that great. On to the next. I stated the audio book of The Last Thing to Burn. It pretty short and I have a lot of things to do tomorrow that will be enhanced by an audio book. I imagine that will be my last read but who knows.

I liked it a lot! Very atmospheric and eerie, with what I found to be quite a satisfying ending.
I started The Borgia Confessions last night, thinking I'd just read a couple chapters to see if I was interested, and all of a sudden it was after midnight and I was almost 200 pages into it. So I have Italy covered, lol. I'll be reading less the next couple days, but will make finishing this one by Sunday a priority.
I mainly listened to my audio book yesterday. We also went driving around to look at Christmas lights last night. We go out on the 23rd since it is not as busy. My son is feeling much better and no one else is showing signs of getting sick. I just have a little cleaning since I did so much earlier this week. My parents are coming over for a Dirty Santa gift exchange and dinner. I have enjoyed reading about all the books you all have finished.
I made quite a bit of progress on The Fiery Cross yesterday so I should finish it today or tomorrow but I also need a bit of a break from it. I went ahead and download Slashing Through the Snow which should be a fast audio and it will work for Winter which looked like it only had one other possible book that has not been started. Wonton Terror is turning into a very fast read so I should complete that one today or early tomorrow.
Yesterday I listened to 66 minutes of an audiobook. On the spreadsheet I should list it as an hour correct? Thanks in advance
Rachel, you can put it down for either 1 or 1.1. I find it easier just to roll over minutes to the next day but either works.

Sounds good, thank you! Looks like there are two main characters with T names Travis and Theo so it might be my first read for the 2022 challenge!
P.S. - If I am wrong about Travis/Theo can you let me know?
I started reading The Sun Down Motel last night which will work for a gothic book. I read it late at night and it was scary! So I’ll try to read it during the day this time. Not sure if I’ll finish it today but it’s definitely a page turner . My husband and I have two hours left of The Lightning Thief audiobook which I hope we will finish today for mythology. I had a Malaysia book planned (The Weight of Our Sky) but both library copies got checked out so I don’t think I’ll be able to do that one.You all are doing so great and I’m very impressed with the amount of reading everyone has done!

Yes, it definitely works for that prompt!
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! I finished Slashing Through the Snow for Winter. We are going to be painting today so I might finish The Fiery Cross audio book today or tomorrow.
Merry Christmas! I finished The Sun Down Motel today and The Lightning Thief yesterday. I’m going to find a Christmas novella and then just fit it into whatever category is left over tomorrow.
Jillian- Did you enjoy Slashing Through the Snow? I have it slotted in for next years ATY challenge. I really have enjoyed the previous books in that series.
I’m gonna finish my urban fantasy book tonight, Hollow Kingdom. Hope everyone else had a great weekend for reading!
I agree, this one was a lot of fun! We had a great team.I ended up abandoning the book I started last night but will add in the pages I read from that and my next book.
I’ve seen wildcards mentioned but I’m confused about what they actually are and how to use them; based on what Emily said a few days ago, it looks like we probably earned some.
For the Wildcards, we can just use them in any open spot. In a past read-a-thon, we put them in the team captain’s column. Such as the 1 star someone can go and write Wildcard and then get the check mark. Last I looked, I believe we had earned 11.
Finished off three books on the plane today. One fits for South America but the others don't fit any of the remaining tags. At least I got the pages marked. Thanks everyone for a great read-a-thon!
What a team! I think we had the quietest GR thread, but had the most books completed. Sorry I went a bit MIA with the holidays... I'm glad you all enjoyed it!
Good morning! I finished a book I didn't even plan to read last night, and there was actually a shelf left open that it fit into!I also added a Wild Card column in the completed spreadsheet and put in the 12 we had.
This was great timing for a read-a-thon, and an amazing first group to participate with :)
Thanks for a fun read-a-thon! Great way to kick start the love of books and I am ready for the new year!
One last hello, all - I caught a cold a few days ago, so I've been slightly out of it, but I did finish one more book last night. It doesn't fit any of the remaining prompts anyway, though, so doesn't really matter, lol. Anyway, thanks for another fun readathon!
