Jade Michaelson (goodreadscomjmichaelson06) | 289 comments A girl going into middle school wants to lose some weight during the summer, and convinces her dad and her dad's girlfriend/fiance/new wife? to let her go. When she tells her friend he calls it a 'fat farm'.

The girl goes to this camp and is roomed with another girl her age. I think her name was Tessa. Tessa is the daughter of some famous actor? singer? and has a difficult relationship with her. Tessa wants to live with her dad instead of her mom. The girls become friends and have a pretty good time together. They have special guests come and one specializes in make-up, and campers get a chance to get a makeover. There is an older teen camp aid all the ladies (and girls) are obsessed with named Lorenzo? Super hot apparently.

The meals are rationed according to weight goals.

There are 'mud' baths for skin health/exfoliation, and the girls try it but fall asleep, the mud hardens and they move like mummies to the shower to get it off.. it ends up clogging the drains and a meal is postponed due to flooding.. all the hungry people are mad. lol

They befriend a handful of adults while they're there as well.

The girls eventually 'stalk' poor Lorenzo and find he's been hiding a puppy he rescued in the woods.. the camp has a 'no pet' policy due to allergies so he's worried he'll lose his job but he doesn't want to abandon the dog.

SPOILER

The girl ends up losing the 'perfect' amount of weight to start off the school year right. Her friend Tessa grows brave enough to tell her mom she wants to live with her dad. One of the girls ends up taking the dog home. It was a cute read.
