My favorite historical fiction book was Rehoboth; my favorite contemporary novels were Only Uni, They Danced on, A Portrait of Emily Price, and No Dark Valley; and my favorite devotional was The Eyes of the Heart: Seeing God's Hand in the Everyday Moments of Life.
