The potential for BR was a motivation for me, for sure. I got the idea from ARC August and thought it was a fun way to implement some mini goals throughout the year. At the very least, creating a list of things usually helps me focus more on them in the long-run. Looking forward to your lineup. :)

Sooo I'm not reaally looking for new releases except for new releases by smaller local authors (I'm from Germany). Those I found on my tbr shelf one Urban fantasy and two high fantasy books about elves and/or dragons 😁 Empire of the vampire is also on my list!

Half of my ignore list is new releases, and the other half are criminally behind entries I'm not too concerned about catching up on, so I just listed the book I left off on, which might be 3-5 books behind the newest releases (some authors like Nora Roberts / JD Robb / Lynsay Sands release way too fast for me to keep up)
I'm not even sure this is a comprehensive list... but it's already a long one, and using 2/3 of the character limit...

My Incomplete Series spreadsheet has 600 series listed... 225 are abandoned, 158 are finished... that leaves 100 series I'm waiting on new releases for, and 125 series I'm behind on but haven't abandoned, including all the series I failed to keep up on in 2021...
My TBR on there is 506 books, and I dodged another 1209 books by abandoning the series...

I have few on my kindle since 2020 I think which I was planning to read and never did LOL! I'm not sure if they should be treaten as 'new' hihihi!
So I didn't make a list last year, but taking the opportunity now, because I have a bajillion (43) books from 2022 that are still on my TBR.
I'd be lucky to get through half of them. ^-^;;
(Actually given my about-equal Read/TBR ratio, I do tend to read about only half of what gets added.)
But the BR for Illuminations is coming up right around the corner, and there are several novellas in there that (in theory) should be easy enough to get through. I'm waiting on one cursed Audible exclusive (*spits* Patooey!) to come out in print, and some other library hold to come in. ... And then there are also the titles which I had completely forgotten about! Ha! ;;
It's fun to see at a glance what is on everyone's TBR.As I see some favorites my heart gives a little leap. Ooh! A Psalm for the Wild-Built! Kingfisher's Saint of Steel series! I should reread those...
And then I'm also excited to see upcoming BRs, and other books that I'm also excited to read as well. Paula I see you also have A Strange and Stubborn Endurance, Iain I still need to read Cytonic as well, maybe once the last book is published. Nirkatze I see The Echo Wife and Iron Widow and a dozen others. So many to look forward to!

I'll let you know if I pick them up! Beginning of the year is sluggish for me though and may not be right away. But I'll give a holler in your tracker if I do.
And I highly recommend the Paladin's Grace. And Strength I liked even better - I would do a reread of those. A Mel would like to revisit a gnole. And a human, even if they can't smell. :)

A couple were short so I felt like I was cheating. Had a couple of DNF's that would have qualified so...
