I am going to give it 4 1/2 stars. It’s quirky writing but not for everyone. I can see my older kids getting a kick out of it.
I decided to read this book first since other reviews stated this came before Phoenix started monster hunting, even though it wasn’t the first book.
Blob in the Bayou is an amusing and fast moving short story. The author shows his love of descriptive words right away in the first paragraph. This continues through the entire book. What I love most about this book is how the hero is seriously flawed. He isn’t quite sure what he’s doing, but he’s giving it his best shot. When he fails, he dies, he comes back, and gives it another shot, even when his previous death was horribly painful. I appreciate our hero’s strange, slightly rambling thoughts on Canada and moose. I’m sure we will see more of it in the other (full length) books. It reminds me of my own thoughts when my ADHD meds have worn off for the day. Is this book for everyone? No. I think, just like our hero, it takes a special type of person to be able to appreciate our quirky Phoenix Bones.

Read: Claimed by Cupid by Dana Isaly
Finished: February 10, 2022
Length: 63 pages
Rating: 4 Stars
Comments: Super spicy but also somehow cute. I really like this couple.

Got my second line finished with this little book.
Finally a twist I legitimately did not see coming! Take a few minutes and give this story a go. It was a wild and emotional ride for me.

If the Fates Allow: A Short Story

I enjoyed this short read, although I now wish I had read it as a child. I think I would have really enjoyed it back then.
I gave this book 4*

76 Pages.
Read this for a school assignment, we had to read a book written between 1875-1945. Wasn't expecting much from this book, but I enjoyed it. We had read a fragment during class, so I knew in advance that I would absolutely hate the main character, which I did. That's what made this book so enjoyable, I don't think I would have liked it this much if the MC had been an neutral or good person.
