It's time for our next ATY Read-a-Thon!

For those of you who have done a read-a-thon for the this group in the past, this should look familiar. If you're new to this, allow us to explain!

What do I have to do to participate?
If you are interested in participating and can commit to actively engaging in the read-a-thon, then please sign up in the comments below. We have chosen the categories so this group activity is fair and fun for readers of all speeds.

Please only sign up if you can commit to checking in with your team (on Goodreads) at least 5 times during the December 18-26 schedule.

How many teams will there be?
It will greatly depend on how many people sign up and how much they think they will be able to read. We are targeting 8-10 people per group.

QUESTIONNAIRE (This helps us sort teams!)
1. What is your estimated reading speed (slow, medium, fast) during a Read-a-thon?
2. What is your availability this week, and how many books do you anticipate reading during the Read-a-Thon?
3. Which time zone do you live in?
4. Can you commit to checking in with your team frequently during the read-a-thon?
5. Are you interested in being a team leader for your group? (i.e. keeping track of team totals, needed tasks, updating spreadsheet, etc.)

message 32: by L Y N N (new)

L Y N N (book_music_lvr) 1. What is your estimated reading speed (slow, medium, fast) during a Read-a-thon?
Usually fast. I think it should be fast for this one since I am trying to finish challenges before year's end. I assume any book I'm currently reading and finish during the Read-a-thon will count as long as I've read at least 100 pages during the Read-a-thon, correct?

2. What is your availability this week, and how many books do you anticipate reading during the Read-a-Thon?
My availability should be good. I must work Monday-Thursday, but my workload should be very light... Since I'll be finishing some books (reading more than 100 pages during the Read-a-thon for each), I'm going to guesstimate I'll read at least 8 books, however, I won't be able to select specific books to meet certain criteria for prompts since I am racing to finish some 2021 reading challenges, so my selections are predetermined before the Read-a-thon begins... That might not make me able to contribute as much to the team effort in some ways...

3. Which time zone do you live in?
EST

4. Can you commit to checking in with your team frequently during the read-a-thon?
Sure!

5. Are you interested in being a team leader for your group? (i.e. keeping track of team totals, needed tasks, updating spreadsheet, etc.)
I could definitely help. If you're desperate I could lead a team, but as I mentioned, my reading list is predetermined so I may not be able to fulfill a lot of prompts.
