what is a ballyhoo

Ballyhoo are fictional powers belonging to characters in the fan-made Scoob and Shag webcomic. Ballyhoo is created when high amounts of concentrated love and admiration are centred on a person. While it's true form is never shown it seems to affect one's soul, adding to it and strengthening it. As the Ballyhoo builds up it is able to be controlled giving the user the ability warp reality. Ballyhoo does not affect everyone the same and gives them unique abilities. It appears that Ballyhoo cannot affect humans as there have been no human Ballyhoo users. Species who can use it include the Toons, the Martians, and Antihoo monsters (creatures corrupted by Antihoo). Clones of Ballyhoo users, such as Shag, have been shown to only be able to use their Ballyhoo if the original user as well as all other clones made prior to them have died, as the Ballyhoo seems to be passed down to the clone that has existed the longest. There is also a possibility that any clone who doesn’t possess a Ballyhoo is able to gain incredible power by absorbing the pure Ballyhoo energy that Scoob’s Ballyhoo, Channel, can give them, but this particular trait may be unique to Shag.
