It's time for a new HOB Partner Pick for January, I thought we'd change it up a little bit and do something different.
Create a shelf with only books with Blue Covers, to count the book has to have a blue cover or be 50 percent blue. You may use this tool to help too, http://labs.tineye.com/color/
Your partner will pick from your shelf a blue book for you to read.

Alternatively, you may still use the reading levels also as a way to participate in the Partner Pick.

Level 1- 1 Book.
Level 2- 2 Books.
Level 3- 3 Books.

You may also use levels for the blue books as well. The same as above.

Please remember to link your shelf when you sign up. Sign-ups begin today and end on the 24th. Partners assigned on the 25th. You have till Jan 2nd to pick for your partner, or I will do the picking.

Thanks.

Anabella

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 220 comments Hi Kathy! I gave two of your blue books 5 star ratings so you can pick from one of these books for your Level 1 book:

The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James - love this author (she is rather new to me) - the story is kind of spooky, has some historical throwbacks, great story

The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner - loved the premise of this book set in Europe, back when there were apothecaries, and one woman tries to help women less fortunate than her get out of bad situations in a very unique way

Thanks! I put them both on my January TBR. I've read several books by Simone St. James. They are all kind of spooky :)

I finished my first HOB pick this month:

5 stars!!!
I loved this book. The whole premise that a murderer is committing murders across the land that exactly mirror the list written by a small-town bookstore owner. An FBI agent that was let go follows the bookstore owner to his place of work and they start a working relationship to try and find the murderer. I love the whole story, and the twists and the turns throughout the story. The ending was great!

The Guest List by Lucy Foley - finished on January 16th

What a page turner! I really really loved it! Gave it 5* (well 4,5 rounded up). Lets say that for me the only negative aspect with this story was "one twist too many".
I especially loved the audio version - many narrators, such enjoyable accents!

So thank you Audrey Jane for this pick! :)

Hi Kathy, I finished The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware , I liked it, my kind of book. But the The Drowning Girl by Caitlín R. Kiernan , I just can't get into it, so couldn't finish. I'm still finishing the book before A Time for Mercy (Jake Brigance, #3) by John Grisham so I can finish the series :)

That's great! Glad you liked it, Elinaly :) I plan to read it in February, looking foward to it.
And thanks for letting me know regarding the audiobook, I like it when narrators perform a bit.
