SPOILER: I believe the mother died by walking into the local river and not coming back out. The book starts maybe with the main character looking through pictures?

This book followed the story of a teenaged girl whose mother died at the age of 18. Now, approaching her 18th birthday, she gets a sense of dread and fear that she will die on her 18th birthday like her mother did. Book was read likely 2-4 years ago, those are all the details I can remember!
