Looking forward to discussion and comments as I have already finished. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did!
I have a few chapters left and I want to spend an evening focused on finishing up...I have great expectations for the ending and have enjoyed the build up. I like all the casual mentions of roses everywhere... dress patterns, old rose bushes, neatly tended rose bushes, rose petal patterns, and of course the Rose Code. Very nice touches. 🌹
This book was indeed a delight. You get sucked in right away, and it’s hard to put it down. It’s always liberating when a war novel has its origin in a intellectual fight and not a physical. And Bletchley Park must be the coolest setting ever. Imagine being next door to Benedict Cumberbatch. (The scenes from the movie The Imitation Game were in my head all the time as I read this book.) I also loved the three main characters, their determination and their ability to become parts of something greater.
I appreciate the ending authors note regarding what she embellished and what she based things on. I always love that with hist fic.
I enjoyed this book-I honestly haven't read anything from this author that I haven't loved. She does a great job bringing a time period to life.
