The Bachelor Team Challenge - Round 7 - Q&A, Tracking & Announcements

Got it. Thanks!

It was a big pile to work my way through, but I see light at the end of the tunnel and I'm pretty sure it's not a train.

Speed Dating Rose - Team 3: We Caught Him Book, Line & Reader
Multiple Date Rose - Team 5: Knocking' on Seven's Door - Amanda
Longest Date Rose - Team 1: One Itch to Scratch - Sassafrass
Page Turner Rose - Team 5: Knocking' on Seven's Door

Would coast guard intelligence officer work for first responder ?"
I'm leaning no, but if you want to send me the book I can give you a firm answer.

I had actually looked into this before you asked, doctors and nurses are not considered first responders. I think it is primarily because they aren't out in the field.

fair enough! thank you! =)

Thanks Kat
Checking cos I thought I'd seen some books claimed along those non-sounding lines (but based on the letter), but subsequently further books (different) were disqualified...

edit - I don't mind either way, but just wanted to know for this book :)

Thanks Kat

It starts with the same letter, so it would work. It has to be the same sound or the same letter. I don't believe I've DQed any that started with the same letter, in fact I can't think of any books I haven't allowed for Alliteration.
(Though, I wouldn't be surprised to be wrong either as crazy as life has been!)

Thanks Kat

Maybe I misread a post? I haven't gone back to check... (too lazy! and just wanted to go with whatever was correct.)
Thanks!

Nope, that is listed as an ebook. The earliest dated English language Kindle edition is dated March 21, 2012 and has 129 pages. 😊

No, sorry.

Yes, November 23, 2016 and 110 pages.

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.
Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!
You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.
C is for Cat - Read a book featuring shifters.
To qualify, your book needs to include in the title, precis, list or tags 'shapeshifter', 'shifter', or 'were-something'.
C is for ??? - ???
To be revealed when the date begins.
C is for Class - Read a book with formal wear on cover.
To qualify for this task, the cover of your selected books need to show model/s in formal wear. For men, think tux or suit and tie. For women, formal dress or ball gown. Period or social equivalents will be acceptable.
C is for Crave - Read a book numbered 4 or higher in numbered series listed on GR.
To qualify for this task, books must numbered 4 or higher in a numbered series listed on GR. Series without order or numbers will not be allowed.

It is going to depend a lot on context. If the male is in a tux, but has loosened the tie - that would more than likely work. A man in a shirt and tie, like he would wear to work in an office, if probably not going to work. It needs to be formal wear, not casual or office wear.

For books set in contemporary times - a male model needs to have a jacket and tie. The tie can be loosened or undone, but it needs to be there. It can not be casual wear, for example a jacket and tie over jeans. For a female model, you need to be able to see enough of what she is wearing to know it is formal. So a picture that just shows her from the waist up in what could be a formal dress or could just be a tank top is not going to work.
For Historical Romance, I need to see that the form of dress is more than their everyday style. In the regency period is fairly easy - and a lot of those books have ball gowns on the cover. For other periods, just something that shows what the model is wearing is fancy - lace or beading or something. Also, they need to be clothed - not draped in fancy bedding.
PNR or UF will have some leeway towards what fits for the world they are set in.

I'm going to try and fit all my PIA questions into one message.
For formal wear I have three questions:
1 - for a female, would a bridal gown work? I am thinking of the following covers:

2- for a man, would you consider a back to the camera shot which shows him in a full suit? The covers I am thinking of are the Mister series by JA Huss

3- this one I'm assuming is a hard "no" but wanted to check. No silhouettes for either the female or the male formal wear - correct? Such as on these covers:

My last question has to do with Steampunk, but I believe mentioned that you would be refining those with the date call tomorrow. Which means I can and will hold on that one.
Thanks for letting me be nit picky and annoying!

If the male is in a suit and tie and the precis mentions a wedding, can I assume it is formal wear and not work related?
If the female is in a little black dress (rather than a long gown) and in precis it mentions she is on a cruise where formal wear is often worn in the evening, can I assume it is formal wear?

Thanks!

Don't overthink it and use the guidelines I gave above and you will likely be ok.
Some generic answers - a formal wedding dress would work. If the cover only shows the back, it needs to be clear and obvious what the model is wearing. A silhouette would work, but again it needs to be clear and obvious what clothing the cover is depicting. Steampunk, PNR, UF and dystopia - what is being worn needs to be formal in those worlds - not everyday clothing.
As for whether something is work related or not - again, don't overthink it. Something like a white coat or stethoscope is obvious, but also look at the setting on the cover and things like that.

I am away from home all day tomorrow - yes, I will be posting the next date from my phone again so keep your fingers crossed it works like it should. Because of this and my difficulties tonight checking books, I will extend the deadline for corrections to 24 hours after I finish checking your team thread. Once I comment on your team thread, that is when the clock will start. If it is just an emoji - no corrections are needed. If I ask for corrections, you will have 24 hours to make them.

Thank you, and hope you are having fun away from home!

This one was tagged by 6 people as wedding, so I think that would have it qualify.

Sorry! Ignore this -- the novella is too short.

Thanks!"
Correct, there is no way for me to check that. It has to be something here on GR like precis, title, tags or lists.

As long as one person is in formal wear, it would work.

That would work, but tags are always good confirmation and leave no doubt.

I'll get to this as soon as I can - might be a while yet though.

Oops, nearly missed this one. In between novellas will work as long as they otherwise qualify - page count, MPG Romance, etc.

Sorry! Ignore this -- the novella is too short."
Just wanted to answer this in case it comes up again - use the number on GR. That is where I will check and use to determine if the book qualifies.

Yes, a law enforcement tag would work. The retired was a problem.
