If the MCs meet in a bar in the precis, will that be enough to qualify?
***edit***
I've also found a tag 'job-barista-waiter' so I guess it qualifies..."
Glad you found an answer without me. We were gone all day yesterday and I'm still not up to full steam yet today.

Both would work in context. 'Romance-drama-comedy' is a combo tag and I would look more closely at that one.

I will check shortly. 😊

This one made me think... The short answer is no, it does not have to be lit to count.
Basically a lamp or streetlight would work even if the cover was a daytime shot and the lights aren't lit. So, extrapolating from there, the lighthouse would work, even if not lit. Taking this further - a fireplace would not work as the light comes from the fire, not the fireplace. I hope that all makes sense, I am not up to 100% yet today.

Sorry for missing this earlier - today ended up being slow with added snacks and football. 🤷🏻♀️
Yes, 'rom-com' should work. I always add the necessary in context, but I can't imagine where rom-com wouldn't work.

I will allow that, but not stars though - other than the sun.

Thanks!

Thanks!"
Someone who makes candy would work, I don't recall if they make the candy...
Yes, the book works, but I think think the 'chef-baker-club-bar' tag on page 5 works without any question. (I think that would be referring to the family owned restaurant/bar in the series - I don't exactly recall, it's been a while. Not that it would matter, I would have forgotten shortly after starting the next book! 🤦🏻♀️)

Trusting Thomas"
I will allow that, the ones I've read have a bar in them. Hopefully this one does too. 🤷🏻♀️😂

It does. There are other books in this series about the bartenders at the club. This one is on the club owner. One of my favorite Hurt/Comfort books.

💡 When posting SH claims for the current date, particularly for Lamp, a cityscape is only going to work if I can see something similar to street lights. The lights coming from inside the buildings will not work. If that is what you are using to qualify your book, it will be disqualified if I can't find a light source on the cover.
📚 For all cover tasks, if what you are using to qualify your book is obscure or small or something similar on the cover, it is EXTREMELY helpful if you tell me where to look!! There were a couple of books, in this date and others, that when I first looked at the covers I couldn't see anything that would work. But when I knew where to look, I could find the qualifications.
‼️ Also, just a general tip. When making your Completion Posts, it is helpful if the book title is near the top so that if I reply to your message the title is included. I just noticed that a bunch of the corrections I requested in the SH thread do not include the book title, because I just replied to their posts. Once I find the time, I will go back and add the titles but I will need to go figure out what they all are first. 🤷🏻♀️ This is also a problem if you include multiple completions in one message, but at least in this instance I already know that the title wouldn't be included.

Just to let you know, I don't really use notifications for this challenge. I just reload the folder and see where there are new messages I should check. 😊 (This also leaves me WAY behind in all other notifications!)

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.
Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!
You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.
O is for ??? - ???
To be revealed when the date begins.
O is for On the Bubble - Read a book with an average GR rating between 3.8 and 4.2.
Books selected for this task need to have an average rating between 3.8 and 4.2 (inclusively) on GR. If the rating for your book might drop below 3.8 or rise above 4.2 during the task, i.e. it is a new book, has very few ratings or it is exactly 3.8 or 4.2, a screenshot might be advisable and you might wish to withhold your rating if your rating is likely to change the average. Please include the average rating as the qualification in your completion posts.
O is for One - Read a book that is a stand alone, one not listed in any series on GR.
To qualify for this task, the selected books can not be listed in any series, numbered or not, on GR. When I look at the main book page, there can be nothing where the series is typically listed and when I look at other editions of the book, none of them can be listed in a series either.
O is for Oyster - Read a book initially published in a month with an ‘R’.
To qualify, the selected books will need to be initially published in a month with an 'R' - January, February, March, April, September, October, November or December. If there is a date at the top of the editions page - USE IT!! Otherwise the qualification would be the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format. If the date at the top of the editions page is a year only as is common with older books, you will need to be able to show the specific month (within the year at the top of the page) that the book was initially published in your qualification likely from a hardcover or MMP edition. Please note that this will not be possible for books with multiple pages of editions or classics.

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.
Don't make more work for yours..."
Hi MKat - one of PIMA questions. For the 4.2 - If I have a book that is rated 4.22 may I assume that basic rounding would apply and that this rating would count as a 4.2 book?
And thus carry this assumption over that if a book is rated 4.25 or higher it would be considered a 4.3 rating and therefore unusable for the On The Bubble task?
Or does the inclusively mean that the book could be rated 4.29 and count?
Again, sorry for the PIMA. I just wanted to make sure.
Thanks!

Don't make..."
Hi Maggie, I don't think Kat is around this morning (or afternoon in your case), but I know the answer to this one so I'll jump in. What Kat meant by inclusive is that 3.80 and 4.20 will count. There is no rounding though...4.20 will work, 4.21 will not. Same on the other end...3.80 will count, 3.79 will not.

O is for Oyster means that the book has to initially be published in a month that has the letter 'R' in it, regardless of the format.
Page count has to be the first edition of a kindle book.
So for books that were first published in paperback format, you would use the month that the paperback was published but search for the first kindle edition to get the page count. Is that right?

O is for Oyster means that the book has to initially be published in a month that has the letter 'R' in it, regardless of the format.
Page count has to ..."
Yes, you have it right. For Oyster, if the book has a 'First published' date at the top of the editions page, that is what you should use. Only if there is no date there (or if it only has a year) do you need to worry about looking at individual editions.
For the page count you will still use the first edition (English language) Kindle version.

Next date begins in just a few!

Date 7 - O - TASK ANNOUNCEMENT

Remember books must be 90 pages (first edition English language Kindle) and MPG Romance!!
You have until Friday, February 11 @ Midnight US EST to post your completion(s).
Please ensure that your completion post conforms to message #3 of your team thread. If you complete more than one book for the date task, be sure to include that information in your completion post. Remember no discussion in your completion posts!

O is for Olympics - Read a book featuring an athlete or sports romance
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be a sports romance or feature an athlete. Saying 'the hero is a runner' or 'MC is an athlete' doesn't qualify the book. Using 'précis states that hero is a football player' or 'tagged sports by 7 people' does qualify the book. Books can to be tagged/shelved as either the generic 'sports' or the more specific sport such as 'football' or 'hockey' as examples to qualify. Qualifications can come from the title, precis, tags or lists.

As long as it is important enough to the story that it is in the précis or tagged, that would work.

Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the precis or cover - say so (see above edition or something similar)! The less links I need to open the better! That saves us all some steps. When using tags/shelves as a qualifier, please link to the selected book's top shelves page that contains your qualifying tag (NOT the link for the shelf - that would still leave me searching for the book) in your completion post. Also include the number of tags and the top shelves page number - this information is extremely helpful if the tag moves or the link is broken and both happen frequently. And please double check your links!
You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.
R is for Recycle - Reread a book.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be a reread for you. Please include as your qualifier a link to your review for the chosen book or to your shelves, ideally searched for the specific book. The books read for this task must be on your shelves and marked as read twice - one of those dates on your shelf needs to be within this date! (So mark it as read before posting your completion.) It is not required that there are two dates listed on your shelves as that is a relatively new-ish GR feature, but if you don't have multiple dates, your review needs to in some way indicate that it is a reread. (One of my reviews before GR added the reread feature as an example of something I am looking for: my review Slave to Sensation) If your profile is private, you will either need to open it for the duration of this date or friend me. If I am am unable to verify your books, they will not count!
R is for Rhythm - Read a book featuring a musician or dancer main character.
To qualify for this task, the title, series title, précis, list or tag would need to indicate that a MC is a musician, singer or dancer. It could be the generic musician or more specific to an individual instrument such as drummer, pianist, etc. This also applies to singer, it could be generic or more specific such as soprano or tenor. And also to dancer, it could be generic or specific such as ballerina or tap dancer.
R is for Rose - Read a book with a distinct flower on cover.
To qualify for this task, the cover of your selected books need to show a distinct flower. I need to be able to clearly and obviously be able to see a flower on the cover. If the flower is light, faded or small on the cover, it is helpful to know where to look when checking your books. A blur of color is not going to work - there needs to be a distinct flower to qualify for this task. You can use any edition's cover to qualify. Please include the qualifying cover in your completion posts.
R is for ??? - ???
To be revealed when the date begins.

For this date, I will not be correcting any completion posts, but I will be checking the threads. If the completions are incorrect or missing elements and are not corrected AND reposted, the book will not count. Teammates, help each other out! Double check for qualifiers, MPG romance, page count and that ALL required info is in all completion posts! Because I will be checking the threads, please repost all corrections even though I am not requesting them! I will accept a link to any edition as long as the page count in the completion post is the first edition Kindle page count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books!
PLEASE, include that your post is a repost when making corrections and don't forget which book number it is for you!!
In the Scavenger Hunt thread, I will only be listing the claims that are complete. The first complete post for any book will claim it. If the book doesn't qualify, I will still comment stating so. Follow the dots here - if the book is listed, all is good. If the book isn't listed, but I didn't comment, something is wrong/missing in your completion post - and the book can be claimed by another participant.
I will only be answering questions in the Q&A or Scavenger Hunt threads! If you want a quicker response, post in the Q&A thread.

The clear and obvious flower on your covers needs to be part of the cover art - NOT a logo for the series, publisher, author, etc. The flower needs to be depict a REAL flower, not a tattoo, floral print fabric or even piped flowers decorating a cake. They can be drawn, but must represent a real flower in the drawing.

Birthday? Yours Kat?"
Yes, it's hers...she was a Valentine baby! 💕

Let's just start with the qualifications for Recycle as given to you in the task announcement:
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be a reread for you.
● Please include as your qualifier a link to your review for the chosen book or to your shelves, ideally searched for the specific book.
● The books read for this task must be on your shelves and marked as read twice - one of those dates on your shelf needs to be within this date! (So mark it as read before posting your completion.)
It is not required that there are two dates listed on your shelves as that is a relatively new-ish GR feature, but if you don't have multiple dates, your review needs to in some way indicate that it is a reread. (Emphasis added. 😉)
‼️ If you don't include a link to your review (or shelf), your book will not qualify.
‼️ Just saying the book is a reread, even with dates, will not qualify your book.
‼️ Your book will not qualify is it is not marked as read on your shelves within Date 8.
‼️ If your link is broken and or takes me to somewhere other than your review (or shelf), your book will not count. CHECK YOUR LINKS!!
