Where Does This Book Fit? the 2022 edition
The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett has been in my TBR for a while. Any suggestions for which prompt it could cover?

someone living a double life, about a secret, there is a small amount of found family, some of it is set in the 1980s.

Hey all, I was wondering where Atlas Six by Olivie Blake would fit. I know it would probably fill several prompts. just trying to see how I should fit it into my challenge
I have the following two books on my TBR and want to fit them in:Reckless Girls by Rachel Hawkins
The Man who Died Twice by Richard Osman
I didn’t read either author last year, so I can’t plug them into that category.
Kim wrote: "my next book to read (because of needing to return it to the library due to a bold list lol) is It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. What prompts would it fit?"First that jumps to mind is the BookTok prompt because that's what I had planned for it.
Thoughts on “Matrix” by Lauren Groff? I was aiming for “non-patriarchal society” (convents count, right?) but I have other options there if someone has a better idea.
I just received a copy of Girl in Pieces and I was wondering if this would fit anywhere in the list? Because nothing comes to mind tbh.

I am reading this right now and likely going to use it for "A Book you Know Nothing About" I literally picked it up because of the author, without knowing anything about the book itself. Also I am learning a lot while reading (despite it being fiction) so I think it works!
Eleanor Oliphant will work for a misleading title. Because she is certainly not completely fine! This is a wonderful book. Very endearing and uplifting
Heather L wrote: "There was a ship in The Sea of Monsters, but not a cruise ship...."Actually, it IS a cruise ship, the Princess Andromeda.
Holly wrote: "I'm currently reading Sold on a Monday as I found it free on amazon prime. Any recommendations as to where it could fit on the current pop sugar categories? Thanks in advance!"Would it work for 'social horror'?
Chaise wrote: "Hey all, I was wondering where Atlas Six by Olivie Blake would fit. I know it would probably fill several prompts. just trying to see how I should fit it into my challenge"I'm using it for BookTok rec as all the marketing keeps saying it's a TikTok sensation.

Can confirm, Atlas Six is all over BookTok.

It's been a few years since I read it but ... Found family? Mal & Alina are in the orphanage together and form a bond.

Jamie wrote: "Most of these probably will not fit, but I'm going to post them anyways and maybe I'll be surprised. These are my current books I own and have not read. I need to read them in 2022 or I'm donating ..."Percy Jackson would fill the found family. In addition, they would also be books you could read in one sitting (well in my opinion at least).

Chaise wrote: "dang I must not being seeing the same things as other people then because I think I have only seen one tiktok mention it but glad to know it will fit that prompt!"Tiktok definitely sticks you into little bubbles...people will mention something as trending on tiktok and I will have never seen it even a single time.
Jackie wrote: "Ellie wrote: "Chaise wrote: "Hey all, I was wondering where Atlas Six by Olivie Blake would fit. The author grew up in Hawaii, which is where her father is from, so it could fit the 'Book by a Pacific Island author' prompt. Part of it is set in the 1980s and part in a dystopian society so it could fit the 'set in the 1980s' or 'social horror' prompts. Possibly 'own voices fantasy' or book set in parallel reality?
Hello, beautiful community! I'd like to know where do these books fit so I can read books that I already have on my shelf!
1. Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan.
2. On the Come Up by Angie Thomas.
3. I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson.
4. Not Forgetting the Whale by John Ironmonger.
5. Hang the Moon by Alexandria Bellefleur.
6. Parable of the Talents by Octavia E. Butler.
7. The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells.
Thank you very much in advance! ❤

I just finished Project Hail Mary and think the best fits are either 1. Found Family or 2. Two languages (as long as you are okay with counting languages that do not exist in real life).

I haven't read any of them, but I've seen movies of a couple, and recognize one of the authors.
I think Crazy Rich Asians could be considered a romance by a BIPOC author, at least if the book follows a similar plotline to the movie.
Parable of the Talents would be #OwnVoices SFF. It's also the second part of a duology if you want to read the first one again (or haven't read the first one yet).
War of the Worlds is set in Victorian times. You could also maybe bend it to social horror; Wells said it was a comment on imperialism and the impact of British colonialism in Tasmania.
Becky wrote: "Has anyone read The New Moon’s Arms by Nalo Hopkinson? If so, does it fit an #OwnVoices SFF book? If not, what prompts might it fulfill? This is one on my shelf that I’d like to read this year."Yes, it should fulfill the #ownvoices SFF prompt
I’m currently reading “Beren and Lúthien” by J.R.R. Tolkien, do you think I could use it to fill any prompt?
Chiara wrote: "I’m currently reading “Beren and Lúthien” by J.R.R. Tolkien, do you think I could use it to fill any prompt?"Assuming there is any Elvish in it, it can work for the two languages prompt.

I borrowed The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane and would love to fit it into a prompt if anyone has an idea where it fits into.
I'm planning to read The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms for the nonpatriarchal prompt.Would the 2 other books in the series:
The Broken Kingdoms and The Kingdom of Gods, fill any other prompt?
My book club picked Love and Ruin by Paula McLain. Does anybody know where I can fit this one in? Thanks!

It's pretty strongly implied that the main characters Oree & Yeine are Black, so this could work for OwnVoicesSFF. Not sure about where to fit the third. If you read a book by Jemisin in 2021, this would work for "another book by an author you read in 2021"?

Hi everybody! I was wondering if To Kill a Mockingbird could be considered social horror? I embarrassingly have never read this book and want to.
Melody wrote: "Hi everybody! I was wondering if To Kill a Mockingbird could be considered social horror? I embarrassingly have never read this book and want to."
It could be, I guess. I think a better category for that book is "misleading title." No one is trying to kill any mockingbirds.

Ooh- that's good- thank you!
I was recently given the first few books of the Shannara series. Any ideas on which prompts they might fit?

I think it can count for social horror (but tbh I'm still not completely sure what "social horror" is), perhaps it could count for "found family," maybe you read another book by Whitehead last year, the truth about the abusive practices at the school is kept a secret, or you can find another book set in one of Tallahassee's sister cities.

I have just finished 'The Man Who Died Twice' by Richard Osman and 'The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' by Suzanne Collins but I am unsure where to put them.I had them both listed as 'A different book by an author read in 2021', so I need to move one of them. Any ideas? (I already have a book for the 'book about a secret' and 'fave past popsugar challenge prompt' and these books are tricky to move. Help!
Thanks in advance :)
Diane wrote: "Any ideas for The Nickel Boys?"Thanks for the help. Currently I have The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris slotted as social horror. Any ideas for other spots for that one....then I could put The Nickel Boys into social horror.
I'm planning to read Utopia by Ahmed Khaled Towfik for another reading challenge and I would like to use it for Popsugar challenge as well. I was wondering if it could be used for social horror or #ownvoices SFF? It seems to be scifi but I'm not sure I understand what qualifies for #ownvoices and the same goes for social horror, so I'm a little hesitant. What do you think?
