Does anyone know where these could possibly fit?

Well they all take place on space 'ships' for the most part.
Book 2 fits the secret prompt
Ilona Andrews posted the first chapter of Polaris on their blog which is how I found the book to begin with if you want to count this for the blurb prompt. They're friends with the author.
Book 3 has a party.
Double life works for all three to me, but book 3 fits the best.

Molly Springer (springho) | 5 comments I have two books im hoping to find a spot for
Nine Perfect Strangers - Liane Moriarty (could this work for a book about a secret?)
Throne of Glass - Sarah J. Mass

message 157: by Alicia (new)

Alicia | 125 comments Throne of Glass could be under secret or double life. Also there is a knife on the cover. While not the kind you would use for your steak, I would say it still counts as cutlery.

message 158: by Nikita (new)

Nikita | 3 comments Hi guys! Happy Reading to everyone!

I have a copy of ‘Stalking Jack The Ripper’ in my TBR and was wondering if it would fit into any of the prompt categories? Any help would be appreciated ☺️

message 159: by Alicia (new)

Alicia | 125 comments Nikita, I loved that series. Same as Throne of Glass, there is a knife on the cover, so could use cutlery depending on how you interpret.

Could also do set in Victorian times and London is a sister city to a lot of major cities.

It could also be a victorian book.

Yes that would work for "about a secret"

Rachel | 13 comments Looking for ideas for all the Discworld "Witches" books. As many options a possible for each, ideally, since some of the prompts are already "taken". 'A book about witches' takes care of one of course, but ideally I'd like to get through at least 3-4, if not all of them.

Also "The Song of Achilles". Seems to be pretty popular on "Booktok" but so are a lot of books I've been planning to read this year, so it might be a good idea to have a few other options.

message 163: by Heather (new)

Heather | 4 comments Where does Where the Crawdad’s Sing fit? My version has a few recipes in the back. Can I use it for that? Are the recipes important to the story at all? If not that prompt then any other it might fit?

I think if it has any recipes, then it counts for that prompt (whether they're important to the story or not).

It's also a book about a secret or a #booktok recommendation, I'd argue.

The BookTok rec is really the best fit! If you read anything by Miller last year, you could use it for "different book by an author read in 2021." Or maybe another book you read ends in "S." A small part of the story involves a ghost, so it's a stretch but you could use it for "afterlife."

message 168: by Dubhease (new)

Dubhease | 642 comments Isabel María wrote: "Where can 1984 fit? Thanks in advance :)"

A book about a secret
A book with a misleading title
A book that features two languages (Newspeak)

message 169: by Alicia (new)

Alicia | 125 comments 1984 could also be used as a book set in the 1980s, even if it was an imagined 1980s and also a social-horror book.

message 170: by Cecile (new)

Cecile Grudzinski Does the whole book have to fit the prompt or can a chapter in the book count.

For example, in The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow . There is a chapter about a non patriarchal society of Leopard-women. Would that fit as a book for a non-patriarchal society?

I loved her debut book; it was the first book I finished last year.
I can't wait to read her newest book.
* Most of the first book is set in NYC, which has a ton of sister cities.
* There are a lot of secrets, especially among the older family members.
* Fits a lot of past prompts. Off the top of my head is a prompt from 2015 (I forget the #): Book written by a woman.
* Regardless of your or anyone's politics, it would fit social horror:
Classism is Front. And. Center in this book, and there are examples of classism in the family.
The book also looks at the appalling way we have treated disorders including alcoholism, depression, and post-partum depression - especially prior to this millennium.

message 173: by Nikita (new)

Nikita | 3 comments For anyone who has already read it, would ‘All The Light We Cannot See’ by Anthony Doerr fit for #8 - A Book With A Protagonist Who Uses A Mobility Aid?

message 174: by [deleted user] (new)

My New Years Resolution was to finish what I start, and with that in mind I have a few books that have been sitting on my shelf for a few years I'd like to squeeze in where possible - any thoughts?

Tinkers

Wifey

Cutting for Stone

The Memory Keeper's Daughter

The Winter People

Any help or direction is greatly appreciated!!

Olive memory keepers daughter could be a book about a secret

Thanks so much. You mentioning the books fitting a lot of past prompts made me want to go look a the past prompts from just recently in 2021 as that was a challenge I never did.

Managed to fit in 'Reckoning' for these:

-Published in 2021
-A book you have seen on someone else's bookshelf
-A book everyone seem's to have read but you
-A book that was on your TBR that you meant to read last year but didn't

So I think the easiest one to go with will be 'published in 2021'.

I've not read What Strange Paradise yet but it sounds like it would work for two languages, two POV, and featuring a man made disaster (war and the refugee crisis).

No it literally is about the protag attempting to hibernate for a year, so it's pretty spot on as far as titles go

message 187: by Ron (new)

Ron | 2708 comments I'm trying to find a place for this one. Thinking about the 'POVs' category but I'm not sure if it will fit in any other ones.

Is there a book you're reading that's title ends with a C? I think that's where I am going to squeeze in one of my TBR.

Olive Could Ten thousand doors of January work for parallel reality?

message 195: by Jen W. (new)

Jen W. (piratenami) | 517 comments I agree, I think The Ten Thousand Doors of January should work for a book featuring a parallel reality.

It might also work for a book with a quote from your favorite author, if you're a fan of any of the authors quoted on the Amazon page, including: Tamora Pierce, Kevin Hearne, Amal El-Mohtar, and several others.

Anxious People might fit for found family
You might be able to read it in one sitting. I read most of it in one day, but had started it a few days before.
Also a book about a secret
In a way, it could fit for a book featuring a party
In the advanced prompt, there are multiple points of view

The Nickel Boys:
Found family
A book about a secret
A book you can read in one sitting
A book featuring a man-made disaster
A book with 2 points of view
There's another one that you will discover when you read it, but I don't want to give it away

The Secret History
A book about a secret
A book that takes place in autumn, if that's your favorite season

The only one I've read is The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. It would fit for the following:
--A book about a secret
--A book featuring a party
--A book with a misleading title
--A book featuring a parallel reality in the advanced prompt
