Sci Fi book about Earth's evolution getting reset by aliens. Read 2019-2021.

There is a few underwater pyramids, they find multiple examples of different species/societies on earth that had been exterminated. The aliens than send a shrew like animal ( solenodon?) to re populate mammals and start the process over. In The book the characters are trying to stop the mass extinction caused by the aliens/pyramids?
