Would.anyone like to read Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day by Winifred Watson? I will be reading it for the bingo square I1: Classic from the Group's Bookshelf Prior to 2023.I can read March or April or September.
Sara, may Lori and I have a buddy read scheduled for April to read Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day by Winifred Watson? We hope other readers will join in the discussion.
Cynda wrote: "Sara, may Lori and I have a buddy read scheduled for April to read Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day by Winifred Watson? Cynda wrote: "Sara, may Lori and I have a buddy read scheduled for April to read Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day by Winifred Watson? We hope other readers will join in the discussion."April will work for me as well. I'd like to join.
I would never have thought to request Miss Pettigrew as a buddy read since the group read it so recently. I'm so happy to see that so many of us missed it!
Cynda wrote: "Everyone welcome to read Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day :-)"I will join you all for this book.
Sara, let’s add Welcome to Hard Times by E L Doctorow to the schedule for July, with others welcome to join us!
Sara, this might be a question you have gotten a squintillion times, but the discussion thread for buddy reads is the old thread from the group if it has already been read, right? And it is the spoiler thread for that group? Also, who else is excited about the To Kill a Mockingbird buddy read next month? It has been a while since I read it. I’m itching to get started. I plan to read 3-4 books with societal racial issues next month for Black History Month and this will be one of them (also Beloved and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, and probably one more).

And it is the spo..."Paula , while you're waiting for Sara's reply , I thought I would put in a comment . I think , at present , you , me and Michaela are interested in reading To Kill a Mockingbird in February . I had read this book so long back , that I really don't remember the details at all . I must confess that I have already started reading this book ( on the 18th of January ) , because I am reading a tome ( The Goldfinch ) along with , and in order to finish To Kill a Mockingbird by end of February , I had to start a bit early . I will , however , be posting my comments as and when you and Michaela post yours , so there will be no mismatch . Also , of course , I'll be using spoiler tags . 😊
Looking ahead to this book that I never read but watched the film a long time ago, so it will be quite new for me. Will only start in February. :)
Alexw wrote: "Please add me to the February list To Kill A Mockingbird."Welcome to the To Kill a Mockingbird February read , Alexw !
Michaela wrote: "Looking ahead to this book that I never read but watched the film a long time ago, so it will be quite new for me. Will be posting comments in February .

Yes, we try to keep just one spoiler thread per book (some very large doorstoppers have more). So for a buddy read, if a thread already exists we ask that you use the thread - you can use both the spoiler and non-spoiler threads for a book discussion. If no thread exists we will create a single spoiler thread for a buddy read.

I have looked through many people’s bingo challenges, and I see several of us have Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil on our lists. I would be up for a group read, or for one of us to nominate it and hope it goes to the monthly poll. I can do something like June or July for a buddy read if anyone is interested. In the meantime, I can nominate it in the group next month. If it wins, no need for a buddy read (as was the case with Mrs Palfrey)!
In March, Klowey and I will be reading The Aleph and Other Stories by Jorge Luis Borges. Anyone who would like to join us is welcome to join in for one story or all.
Sara, may Klowey and I have a buddy read thread to read The Aleph and Other Stories to be read in March.

Not sure if I can commit because I think I have other June and July buddy reads but I will try to fit it in if I can for when ever it's set up. I'd second and vote for it if it came up in any month as a nomination.
Sue wrote: "Paula W wrote: "I have looked through many people’s bingo challenges, and I see several of us have Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil on our lists. Also,I have the physical book on my shelf, but someone told me the audiobook of this is amazing. I might have to also look into that.
Cynda, I have added The Aleph and Other Stories to the schedule for March and will set up threads for the March reads next week.
I have also added Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil to the schedule for August.

Sara, can we (Connie, Marylin, Karen and I) have a buddy read added to the schedule for reading The Year of Jubilo: A Novel of the Civil War in April and then The Judas Field: A Novel of the Civil War in May? Anyone who is interested, these are book 2 and 3 after The Black Flower: A Novel of the Civil War which was a buddy read last year.
