Craftyhj | 250 comments Good morning Barb!

I have only read 2 from you list, “Pemberley” and the “Longbourn letters”. Very different but I loved them both.

Decisions, decisions decisions! Which to pick. Let’s go “Pemberley” then we can both do dragons together as my nomination is another in the series.

Hi Sophia,
I LOVED Epiphany but I’m intrigued by What Happened on Box Hill
Ultimately, I would love to hear your thoughts on Box Hill, so I’m going with that choice. I hope you enjoy! Can’t wait to hear how it is.

Thanks, Dawn! I look forward to the mystery the title hints at. And, I've heard good things about Epiphany so I'm going to try to squeeze in both.

Thanks, Katja! I love P&P and I love mysteries so this one sounds like it will be the best of both worlds. I’m excited to read it!

MichelleH H | 161 comments Hi Patricia. You had a tough list to choose from. But since you picked so many Amy D'Orazio titles I decided to choose the one I liked best, (although all of them are on my reread shelf.) So, here goes: A Season of Waiting.

I hope you get to the rest of this list eventually, too. Happy almost February.

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) I haven’t received a pick so maybe I’ll pick Miss Austen by Gill Hornsby for myself (cheating a bit because February is shaping up as a very busy reading month for me and Miss Austen is the Feb book for my JASNA group).

Maybe she just hasn't logged in yet.
You still have a couple days to go before Feb. begins.

I just want to clarify , you want me to read a book by amy dorazio or seasons pf waiting by christina Morland?

message 71: by Gillian (new)

Sam H. | 869 comments Dana wrote: "Hi Sam!! I am going to go with Quirks of Fate for you. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it!!"

I liked it very much! It is a lovely idea and I appreciated that the author didn't drag the whole story down with unnecessary scenes and details. I felt like I got a whole story quickly, no repetitions!

Thanks for the rec - 4 thumbs up!!!

Katja | 287 comments Gillian wrote: "@katja I am picking The Child for you as I found it very enjoyable!"

Thanks, I am looking forward to reading it. Actually I started it a while back but then I got distracted after a couple of chapters, not sure what happened because it seemed like a good book. Maybe some ARC needed reading, I don't remember. Anyway I never got back to that book and I'm happy to have the reason to start from the beginning :)

I say go for Miss Austen, Abigail. I'm curious to see what you think of it. :)

A qualified yes. There certainly were some interesting passages and a whole lot of crude behavior. 3.5-3.75

message 77: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Miss Austen is up next as a reward for the book I’m just finishing, which is well enough written but a big dose of cod liver oil. Thanks, Sophia!

Hi Katja, thanks to being confined to my house due to Mother Nature's winter assault, I've had a lot of unexpected, but welcome reading time and finished the book you chose for me! It was quite an exciting adventure and I enjoyed it quite a bit. My stomach was in knots and I'm sure my blood pressure went through the roof while I read, but those are the best kind of books! ;-) I hope you get the chance to read it and would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for choosing it for me!

Oh yes, you'll need quiet and contemplative Miss Austen after that. :)

Barb (barblibrarian1) | 15 comments Jeanne, I am sorry to be so late. I thought I did this, but senior moment must have distracted me. I suggest A Splendidly Unsuitable Match by Jennifer Joy.

message 84: by Barb (new)

Barb (barblibrarian1) | 15 comments Crafty, Pemberley has been on my list forever and I really want to get into this series. Love the author, not fond of dragons. But, this is a good time to start.

message 88: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Well, I finished Miss Austen by Gill Hornby, and I confess I liked but did not love it. Some strong objections to the lady (Jane, not so much Cassandra) in this portrayal, which I can’t detail without spoilers. My review here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show....

Oh gads, Patricia! I must have been brain dead that day. Uh, if you haven't figured it out by now, I chose Christina Moreland's book Seasons of Waiting. And by all means, at some point please read Amy's books from your list too. What I meant to say was that, since you had so many Amy D'Orazio titles on your list I could not chose between them. Slap forehead.

I'm so sorry I didn't see this until today.

Wow, Dawn! Both Epiphany and What Happened On Box Hill were enjoyable reads even though they are very different in type. Thanks for the great picks. :)

message 96: by abmom (new)

abmom | 288 comments Shifra, sorry for getting back so late to your recommendation, but it seems I made a mistake when making my list by including far from tree and a promise kept as I don't have these two books. So, please give me another choice.

Shifra ♕ (shifra98) | 27 comments Hey abmom, no problem! I really liked A Longbourn Entanglement, it's funny, original and Darcy is pretty cute in it. Hope you enjoy! :)
