I just finished it and loved it! Surprisingly moving while also being a fast-paced and, sometimes, spooky mystery. This is my first book from Malfi but it won't be my last!
Starting part 3. This is shaping up to be one of my favorite reads of the year. Also my Gen X heart is loving the 80's soundtrack sprinkled throughout.

I'm glad you're loving it so far, LTF :) I'm still thinking about it.
About 50 pages to go. I WILL finish this before bed. I told myself the same thing last night but my Ambien had other plans.

My first Malfi, I'm about 20% done & aim to finish about half of it by day-end. If the rest of the book is just as good, I must check out his other works!
I agree Ahana, I finished Wednesday night and absolutely loved it. I added every book Malfi has written to my want to read list. Loved his writing style.

I'm sure I will Latasha, it sounds great. Ahana, Bone White and December Park are both 1.99 on kindle right now. My local library has zero books by Malfi, after reading this book I'm going to have to talk to them about that.

Contrary to what seems like the popular opinion, this is probably my least favourite Malfi book I've read so far. Still a good book, but nothing that will stay with me for too long.Regarding Malfi recommendations: Bone White is amazing. The Night Parade & The Narrows are great as well.
Just finished this and well, I give it a 4/5 as I loved the writing style which gave this novel an extremely unique way to tell a riveting story. It could have had a better ending but either way, this is definitely a book I’d recommend for anyone looking to read a horror mystery. I still definitely enjoyed it!

@Kristen: Thanks, my friend! Oh for sure, I couldn't put it down when I sat to read and had to take breaks because of work, my puppy, or gaming lol. I very much enjoyed it :-)
@Jamako, thanks for the recommendations, I'll definitely be looking those up.@LTJ, I totally agree about the ending. But also agree that it was still amazing and I'm so grateful to have been introduced to this author. You've mentioned gaming a couple of times around here, what do you play?
@Sally: For sure, I absolutely loved reading every chapter and didn't find anything boring or repetitive. It was quite the reading adventure! I play mostly PC games via Steam, right now, my rotation is CS:GO, Halo Infinite, and plan to start Age of Empire IV probably this week as I'm on vacation from work. Are you a fellow gamer? :-)
@LTJ, yep I'm also a gamer. FPS with good story lines are my faves. The Last of Us, Tomb Raider and Uncharted are my jams. So gamer, book lover and metal head. Dude, we are the same person!
@Sally: ZOMG! Look at that! I'm also a HUGE FPS guy, I grew up with DOOM, Quake, Half-Life (why I love Counter-Strike to this very day), Goldeneye, and Halo. Great game choices there and wow, that's so awesome! Who are your top three favorite bands? Slayer, Megadeth, and Iron Maiden here :-D
@LTJ, aw, you have my shitty memory too, haha! I already told you my favorite bands on your review of that metal book you read! But I'll remind you of my current faves, Halestorm, Papa Roach and Korn. Have you read any other Malfi books or was this your 1st?
@Sally: LOL! That's right, my apologies as yes, I'm very forgetful (hence why I tend to take a lot of notes of things to remember) and remember now! This was my first Malfi book, I might read some other ones of his down the road once I get my TBR down, you?
At the halfway point of this book I was loving his writing so much I put everything he's ever written on my want to read list. I bought Bone White and December Park on Kindle for 1.99 each with some Christmas money. Both recommended from this group.
@Sally: Wow, now that's dedication! I hear that Bone White is his best work yet, did you read it or not yet?
I've just started Bone White & can attest - it seems significantly more creepy than Come with Me.

There isn't enough spare time in my day to do both so I tend to go really long spells of just gaming and then miss reading so I switch. @Latasha: I grew up with WoW, played it from beta for a little over a decade (FOR THE HORDE!), and same here! The game has turned into a shell of itself as it's so sad. WoW brought to me some of the greatest gaming memories ever but it is what it is.@Sally: LoL yeah, this is why I love to play Magic The Gathering: Arena as it's not as intense as an FPS or RTS game. I read in between matches regardless to kind of do both but lately, nothing new that has come out has been like ZOMG, let's do 12-hour sessions. The last time I felt that was when Apex Legends first came out, sadly, nothing big this year but hopefully, next year!

For the horde! I started playing right before bc came out and played steadily until a little bit ago. I know I’ll go back to it eventually. I had some really great times with that game. 😔
