SOLVED. YA, Graphic novel: Caveman looking for part of his soul. [s]

I read a graphic novel a few years ago and want to find the book again. The backstory is that a caveman was split into 3 people as a baby and when he finally got all 3 people united, he realized there was part of his soul was still missing. The novel is about him searching for the missing piece. There is a dirty named Birdman, I think, and in the end the caveman finds his true love.

Not sure if it was a recent publication or adaptation.
