The fmc biological dad is a bad guy who send people wolves and witches to try to find her and bring her to him or get some of her blood. She doesnt know why people are after her. Her mom died when she was born. I know she is attacked at like a mall or something as well even when she was with a group of other wolves to protect her. The elders make the alpha mark her at the luna ceromony. She lives with her aunt whose name is rose i think and her uncle wesley I believe is his name and there sons who are her cousins. One cousin is friends with the alpha. In one chapter thwy go visit the alphas cousin i believe and the girl is attacked but the alpha is able to get to her to save her. The fmc is able to bring the alphas mom out of her sadness and isolatuon that she went into after the alphas dad died. Another chapter the girl is captured and her father shows up and thwy torture her to try to see if she has any of his magic. The alpha is ablw to find her but is in a fight which causes her to turn into a wolf and she ends up using magic to catch a witch on fire and to freeze another one as well. The book is not His Human Mate

I would say more for adults or at least 18yrs and up. I read it this year
