I'm looking for paid Beta Readers for the December timeframe for my 92k word sportsy, dual-POV YA sci-fi with a side of romance. Blurb below!

Seventeen-year-old Ezren Hart interns in her mother’s terraforming lab, studying Belethea’s deadly storms with the dream of giving her backwater planet open teal skies. But when budget cuts threaten to shut down her mother’s lab, Ezren resolves to enter Belethea’s Race Royale, the system’s deadliest and most lucrative race. To win, she’ll have to run, drive, and fight her way across Belethea’s barren landscape while navigating its savage and volatile storms. With her planet’s future, and her own, on the line, she can’t afford to lose. But first, she’ll have to convince her royale partner that their planet is worth saving.

Nineteen-year-old Foster Sterling is a jaded ex-prodigy royaler still reeling from the death of his partner in a training accident last year. When Ezren Hart comes charging into his life, her passion reminds him of what he once loved about racing. But no matter how fast they go, they can’t seem to outrun the mysterious string of accidents that follows them like a curse. As he falls harder for Ezren, he’ll have to decide if winning is worth their lives.

Hi, Hayley. Just got onto GR for my morning perusal and found your request for a beta reader.

Sounds like you've written an action-packed story with a bit of mystery, and some romance never hurts :) I've spent years as a competitive distance swimmer (pool & open water), and while that's not one of the sports involved, I can certainly identify with long drawn out competitions.

You will be getting quite a few responses to this request, and I suggest you take a few days and compare them all to determine which beta reader(s) would work best for you. It's important to find someone you can work with, who understands the genre you've written in. Scheduling and pricing are also important factors.

While you wait for the responses of the other beta readers, take some time to consider the following:

I have been reading science fiction and fantasy for the last 45+ years. Check my Goodreads profile (just click on my name at the top of this message) for a look at my bookshelves. I have grouped the books I've read by genre so you find what you are looking for quickly.

I have beta read manuscripts ranging from short stories to epic fantasy novels. I primarily work with science fiction and fantasy. That's my focus. It's what I love to read. If you try to get me to read something that isn't mostly SFF, I'll suggest you to find someone else because your beta reader needs to understand your genre.
