I don't really know know the year it came out, but I think its a trilogy, but not quite sure, as I only read the first one. I bought it at a Twice Told Tales down in Texas around 2007. I think it's an adult book?

Two brothers (takes place around the late 19th - early 20th century?) live in an old house (they inherited it?) and there's a creek and a bunch of woods in the back of the house. And I think the creek is magical or something. I remember that one of the brothers sends a paper boat up the creek and it comes back but something is special about it or something.

Mythago Wood and its sequels are set in and around a piece of primeval woodland in England, where mythological archetypes come to life. The wood is bigger on the inside than on the outside (like the Tardis) and I seem to remember some children putting a paper boat into a stream on one side of the wood, and it taking a very very long time to come out the other side.
