SOLVED. children's monster book [s]

a group of children go on a field trip to a zoo full of monsters. one by one the children would get taken by one of the monsters till there are none left.

the illustrations where creepy.

I also remember the unicorn being in the book and it said something about it not being cute, but actually very deadly.

probably read about 2002 give or take

Was it a picture book or a book with illustrations every few pages?

Were the illustrations color, full page, black and white, etc?

Anything about the cover?

full page color every page. I don't remember the cover. only that it was in the same style as the rest of the book.

What other monsters were there? Witches, Zombies, Dracula, etc?

this is all a vague memory but....vampires, bigfoot, maybe mummies, warewolfs, ...thats only a maybe, but you know..things like that.

I think that maybe the tour guid was mr jakle/hyde but that might have just been one of the monsters.

I remember poems that went with each creature was also a bit creepy.

oh my gosh thats it! just as creepy as I remember.

(sometimes I wish my mom hadn't given way all my childhood books, but we don't have room dedicated to books lol)

I would have freaked if my Mom had given away my books! I'm still lucky to have them as fortunately they were stored elsewhere when our house burned down.

with three kids worth of children's books and a small house, sometimes you have to prioritize

True. Lucky for my Mom I was the only reader/collector of books out of 4 children. I get lectured by my husband about my many totes of books in our tiny house but I don't listen.
