Haven't you read shorter works with us a few months back? And I guess you've read at least some novels - so vote for these, you don't have to fill everything. Also check artwork in the package and it takes just minutes and you can choose some.
I highly recommend to vote, at least to use your right to show what you deem the best

Exactly that; IIRC you can vote "no award" at any point to vote that you'd rather have no work win this category than to give the award to any lower-ranked works.

Yes. The famous usage of No Award choice is 2015, when Puppies with their slates had a not of nominated works, see results here: http://www.thehugoawards.org/hugo-his...

Typically, from what I understand you are encouraged to leave categories or nominees off your ballot if you didn't have a chance to read/watch/engage them. They basically don't get a vote from you, but it is not a signal that you didn't consider something award-worthy. In order to do that, you have to rank No Award in the relevant category.
For example, in Dramatic Presentation (Long) I didn't watch Soul so I'm leaving it off my ballot. But I did watch Tenet, it was hot garbage, so I am ranking "No Award" above it. Also, I didn't watch Eurovision but I disagree with its inclusion on the ballot so I'm no-awarding that too.

Ah, ok. Thanks for explaining that. I didn't understand. I'll edit my ballot/post with the appropriate "no award"s.
I didn't care for Tenet either, but I've heard it improves after watching it multiple times....which I think is the sign of a bad movie. I guess there is good and bad to that. Like, I love Donnie Darko and definitely wanted to watch it repeatedly to try to understand it better, but Tenet was no fun at all. I have absolutely no desire to ever see it again and I don't have faith that there is anything substantial to actually figure out. There are fans though.

The Vanished Birds and The Space Between Worlds are both excellent as audiobooks...if that would you help you get through them! And I think those are the two best in that category.

yep, exactly, ditto! I will never watch it again -- if only for the reason that the sound mixing was the worst of any big budget movie I've ever seen, it was literally unintelligible, and this was apparently a conscious choice of Nolan's? Ugggggh. No award!

But I’ve been too lazy to bother trying to vote this year

I think it's better to use the No Award option and list below the things you think are garbage and/or shouldn't be on the ballot. Remember the Puppies! Constant vigilance!
Like Kalin said: if you didn't read it, don't include it; but if you thought it was sh*t, DO include it below No Award.

When you assign works to your vote, you rank them, 1st, 2nd, etc. If you think that a work don't deserve to be on the list you don't include it, and may (not must) add No Award. If you set No Award e.g. 2nd and then any work 3rd, your vote for the 3rd work still counts

Kind of but not exactly. Your vote does count in determining the Prospective Winner, but after that they still apply the No Award test.
From the Hugo voting rules:
"The final check before a winner can be determined is known as the No Award Test. The valid ballots are divided into three piles: those in which No Award is ranked higher than the prospective winner (PW), those in which the prospective winner is ranked higher than No Award, and those in which neither No Award nor the prospective winner have preferences listed. Note that a ballot that contains a preference for the prospective winner but does not contain a preference for No Award goes into the “prospective winner higher than no award” pile. This is because lack of preference is, by definition, lower than any preference. Having got the three piles, the votes in the “prospective winner higher than No Award pile” and the votes in the “No Award higher than prospective winner” pile are counted. If the number of votes with the prospective winner placed higher is greater then the result is confirmed. If the pile with No Award placed higher is greater then no award is given in the category that year."
So if you include No Award on your ballot, you have to ask yourself if all the works you listed below it are equally bad. If yes, you can simply leave them off your ballot. If you think they are all bad but some are worse than others, you can rank them below NA, in which case you have voted against the lowest-ranked nominee as strongly as possible.

ETA: but perhaps I'll do it in the novella category, cause there I definitely thought Finna and Upright Girl Wanted were crap.
