Orion (twilightambition) | 72 comments I'm starting this one a bit in advance so people who haven't can read, Hyperion, the first book in the series. But, it was one of the previous botms so I'm assuming a good deal of you may have already.

Post below if you want to join in. I'll kick off discussion around the beginning of March when I start reading. :)

I've read this already and love the entire series so will happily discuss <3 Although I may have to refresh my memory on what happens in this one, haha :)

Ryan I'd love to as well, and I've got Hyperion on my to-read list for this year, but I won't have time to read the sequel by then.

Orion (twilightambition) | 72 comments Noooooo read it now! I believe in you!! :P

I'm a very slow reader and I'm not starting this one until at least March, so you should have plenty of time to catch up if you want. :)

Ryan But it's dystopian February!!!!

I will read Hyperion in the first week of March and the sequel immediately after. You've convinced me. I'm in.

Ryan You're such a manipulator!

Orion (twilightambition) | 72 comments You're in for a wonderfully weird, complex, and multi-faceted sci-fi adventure :D

If I have finished the dragonbone chair and then Hyperion in time then I would gladly join, Hyperion has been on my shelf for a while just staring at me. Unfortunately I won't be at that point till mid March or so at my pace

Ryan I just started Hyperion today. It's zany and I am intrigued.

Matt | 28 comments John I was too! A little is explained about that in Fall of Hyperion.

I read this a few months back I liked it but no where near as much as Hyperion. That was one of the most emotional books I think I have ever read and from a SF book!

message 14: by Ryan (new)

Ryan So the second week of March is soon over and I'm still plugging away at Hyperion. I'm not sure I like it enough to jump straight into the sequel. The Rachel/Sol storyline is gut wrenching but I don't care about any of the other characters.

I'm rather sad that I wasn't quick enough in finished my current book due to university obligations and could not join in on this one. I have had the Hyperion cantos sitting waiting to be read and have not gotten to it yet. Everywhere I go it is said to be top notch and I think I may have to start it next anyway

Ryan So I just finished Hyperion. Wow. Finished very well after dragging in the middle. I can't jump straight into the Fall of Hyperion right after that. I've started this month's sci-fi read instead.

But excellent book, Hyperion. Four stars.
