Rachel (mimbza) | 238 comments A book published in 2022:

One Last Day of Summer by Shari Low One Last Day of Summer by Scottish author Shari Low is a contemporary romcom mainly set on a plane trip to tropical Saint Lucia in which four strangers get to know each other. This is a feel good “found family” style of beach read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Here is my review

Love Marriage by Monica Ali Love Marriage by Bengali English author Monica Ali is a complex multilayered story of two families in London and the relationships between them. I found it insightful and had some thoughtful comments to make on immigrants, racism, feminism and islamophobia. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Here is my review

A Magic Steeped in Poison (The Book of Tea, #1) by Judy I. Lin A Magic Steeped in Poison by Taiwanese Canadian author Judy I. Lin is a YA fantasy where the fantasy world is based on ancient China and uses a magic system involving brewing tea. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Here is my review

Pam (bluegrasspam) | 3840 comments I’m halfway through Mercury Pictures Presents by Anthony Marra and absolutely loving it! It will possibly be my favorite book of the year.

message 60: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 2983 comments That’s good to know Pam. I loved his “A Constellation of Vital Phenomena”, but Hollywood stories aren’t my favorite. Glad to hear (and not surprised) that “Mercury Pictures Presents” is excellent. It may end up being my “related to the arts” choice for next year.

Rachel (mimbza) | 238 comments I just read The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn which is a historical fiction based on the story of Lyudmila Pavlichencko, a Ukrainian sniper known by the Russians as Lady Death for her part in fighting against the German invasion of her homeland in WW2. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ here is my review

Rachel (mimbza) | 238 comments The Bangalore Detectives Club (Kaveri and Ramu #1) by Harini Nagendra The Bangalore Detectives Club by Indian author Harini Nagendra is a cozy mystery set in 1920s Bangalore. The first in a series featuring the mathematical and forward-thinking Kaveri, an enjoyable read with yummy recipes at the end. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ here is my review

message 63: by Laurel (new)

Laurel Kristick | 874 comments I read A Little Too Late by Sarina Bowen, a second chance romance that is the start of a new romance series set in a Colorado ski resort featuring 3 brothers. Decent romance, but not one of my favorite books published in 2022.

Those would be The Kaiju Preservation Society (Science Fiction), Entangled Threads (historical mystery), and The Candid Life of Meena Dave (fiction).
