I am looking for a nonfiction book where the main character is a zombie. There is something that can grant you a wish but it has a negative affect if it is for personal interests. He was killed when another student’s parents made a wish that their son would be better than him.
His parents wished for him to be with them again and he came back a zombie. He meets a girl whose mom went missing and they go on a journey to find the thing that grants wishes. They have to travel through mud and they finally find the wish maker. The girl wishes to be able to see magical creatures so she can find her mom. At the end of the book the zombie boy becomes human again.
