(Yeah, poor guy. He was a ‘delicate man’ to start with and his advisers convinced him he was possessed by evil spirits. Unlike many rulers, he actually took religion seriously, but was superstitious/scrupulous. He had a nervous breakdown because of this, if I’m not mistaken. He wasn’t a fit ruler anyways, but still.)
