Just randomly opened the Quran and this is the first verse I read:
"Fight those from among the People of the Book who believe neither in God, nor in the Last Day, nor hold as unlawful what God and His Messenger have declared to be unlawful, nor follow the true religion, until they pay the tax willingly and agree to submit." The [ancient] Jews [used to] say, 'Ezra is the son of God,' and the Christians say, 'The Messiah is the son of God.' These are but their baseless utterances. They imitate the assertions made in earlier times by those who deny the truth. May God destroy them! How far astray have they been led!" (9:29-30).
To define some terms,
People of the Book= Jews and Christians
His Messenger= Muhammad
"submit" the Arabic word for submit is where we get the word "Muslim" from. Muslim=one who submits to God. So, when it says they should be made to submit, I presume that means convert, but I could be wrong.

(Ahhh, that sounds familiar! Truly, my kids and I loved the Archer books more than any of the others. 🤷♀️)
(Haha, me too! I read The Last Archer in one day then immediately read it again! I just love Jo so much! He's so fun and complexed! I mean i LOVE all the books but I really enjoyed the first 2 Green Ember books and the Archer series the best! :) )
