I probably read it around 2016, class of children show up to class and their teacher isn’t there, they do their classwork anyways and i think one girl decides for the class not to tell anyone they don’t have a teacher. They also had a classmate who had recently died in his sleep I think. I believe the cover was green with a backpack and/or a hamster on it.

that’s what i was thinking of, must have gotten the kid dying part mixed up with another book, any ideas on that? probably read around the same time, i believe the kid had some condition and he died in his sleep and there was something about him having a big head.
