Challenges: Year Long Main 2022

2022 is almost here
I was looking through my quotes and thought, "You know, I haven't read The Martian in a while. I should do that!" which was immediately followed by, "But what if it fits into a task for next year?" But then I told myself, "Like what? Not set on Earth? *Scoffs* *Long pause* Wait...." Better safe then sorry?

Lol!Also, whenever I have some spare time I can't help thinking: 'if only the challenge was known! this time would be perfectly spent gophering!'
But, I also really need her to hold off until I have started all of the books that will get me one badge (yes I need to learn to read with focus), otherwise I will find places in next years challenge for everything I pick up 🤦♀️
The time waiting for the challenge is a whole challenge in itself!
This is my first yearly challenge. I am halfway to earning Badge 5 because I have had a lot of down time this year. But…I am starting to lose motivation because I am focusing on some other books to read. LOL! (I am a sucker for non romance holiday books.) I can’t wait to see the new challenge, but knowing me, I love the gopher ing too and am afraid I will become immersed in that before I can finish this last badge. I know…I know. I can’t wait to see the new challenge though!
I remember one or two years ago, I finished my last book for badge one on December 26th. I had promised myself I would not start gophering until I had my badge. It was so hard! I took a general look to the new challenge when it was posted and then never opened that thread again until I was done. I was so proud of myself. I'm not sure I would be able to do it again, though. It's certainly harder to focus now.

I know the challenge, and it is sooo tempting to start gophering, but that isn't fair to the rest of you. Maybe I should redirect my thoughts to December's challenge. There have been a couple of years where I have tied the December challenge in with the upcoming annual challenge as an appetizer so to speak. I'm tempted to do that again this year. But that would mean, I'd have to post them close together. Thinking out loud here....

It seems that all my books are "random" lately. But sometimes I have one of those happy moments when I can fit one into a task.

Oo, that would mean within the next week! Please, please...before I'm expected to be back on my feet - or else I'll have to fake a relapse into sudden, unexplainable ankle pain to get some gophering time LOL
Margo, you did one ankle for the toppled, you can do the other one for the yearly challenge.

I always have that same conversation with myself over books I have and want to read, and "what if" I need them for the challenge for next year???? There is just no way to tell what Janice has in store. My advice - read it now if you want to. There is always another book out there that will fit, you just have to dig a little deeper. ;o)
I forgot about it being Thanksgiving in the States. I guess we'll call the unveiling of the challenge Black Friday.
I’m probably not going to get anymore read this month because of NaNo and family and the sheer amount of distractions I have around and I have reading plans for December so even if I don’t read it this year, I probably won’t miss it. :)
Oh no! All this talk about the yearly challenge... I decided to plan out my December reading so I can hopefully finish my first badge for this year and I just realized that I left no time for the monthly challenge! 🤦🏼♀️ Oh boy... I may have to have a personal toppler in addition to the December toppler.
Yay, I'm so looking forward to it!
By Janice’s comment, I guess the big reveal won’t be until Friday? Her teaser has gotten me overly excited. I feel like a kid at Christmas. Can’t wait to get the challenge and start gophering!
