I remember some lgbtq characters and mentions of spice but it was a few months back that I read it... Anything specific you're looking for as far as content?
Lizzy, I have a review of Powerless with content warnings that you can go look at if you want (and also The Inheritance Games), I'd type some of it out here, but I'm about to start dinner so I can't right this moment, sorry. I haven't read Divine Rivals, but I've heard that there's a spice scene towards the end of the book.
Lizzy, I have reviews for both books. I am on the app, so I can’t link them. Sorry! However, there are issues with both books. It just depends on your tolerance level.
I just wanted to mention here that I had started to read The Mirror Visitor Quartet series, I just finished the second book, and I can honestly say I would not recommend it. Content-wise it was fine, besides some violence.
But I personally felt like I couldn't read it with a clear conscious, especially with how the second book ended.
Basically, the author has a character she names "god" and I'm not sure what she was trying to prtray exactly, but this character is the complete opposite of the One true God and I a major issue with that.
This is my review of the second book. It's not the clearest😅, but it explains a little more

so uhh, idk if this is the right place to ask but... I really want to read the Twilight Saga this year but I just heard smth abt it and I was worried if there was anything iffy
i haven't read it, but on the topic of spice I think there's none through the first three books, but there is a scene in the fourth. (I could be remembering wrong tho, and this is just based off what I've heard)
The Selection are a few make-out scenes throughout the trilogy (I haven't read the spinoffs), talk of being a virgin (it's illegal not to be if you're unmarried). two characters are caught in a compromising position (off page), and in the third book, there is a scene where the mc wears a revealing dress and tries to seduce one of the love interests, and also a scene where two people sleep together, no spice, but they are partially unclothed.

In the meantime, Lindsey (Books for Christian Girls) just posted a review for the book here. (And it has me rather nervous about continuing, to be honest. 😅) I hope it helps!

@Sarah, thank you. I actually just read her review on it and I definitely won't be reading it. However, I do want to see your thoughts on the book once you complete it.

Thanks for sharing Lindsay's review! Always looking for more clean recs on youtube. ☺️
I love Lindsay's reviews. If I have content questions on Christian fiction or other books I almost always check her reviews to see if she's read it.
Lizzy, there's bad language, suggestive comments, and underage drinking. I can't remember all that was in it, though, but my review has the content listed in it.

♥️♦️♣️♠️ Jesus, books, tea, and cats ♠️♣️♦️♥️ (CC) wrote: "Is ACOTAR okay for a thirteen year old to read???"There’s a lot of fairly graphic sexual content, mentions of sex for mutual beneficial purposes, and a lot of mentions and innuendos. Sexual content plays a big role in the plot.
The language is mild, but…☝️
As a 13 year old myself, I wouldn’t, but it depends on your spice level.

Oh, okay! Ty! (I'm still gonna read it 🫢)
I mean, I did that with Fourth Wing 😳🤭🫣the plot was worth it tho, and there was only 2 really bad sexual scenes…still though…

Stop!! I want to read that too!! 🤣😭
I was still disturbed though, so I’m not crazy. But the plot was soooooooooooo good. I don’t usually read smut though.
Apparently Sunrise on the Reaping contains lgbt content. Just thought I'd put that out there. I was sorely disappointed when I heard the news.😭

I know. Not everyone has the same values when it comes to life, but personally I'm glad I heard about it before I read the book.
I just wanted to clear up that it wasn't like, a lot or a major character, in case anyone was wondering.
Sry if I came across rude. I can get a little prickly when it comes to that content in books.😅😬 I write things and then remember tone can't be heard in text.
Any content warnings on books by Jaime Jo Wright? I know she's a Christian author, and the book I'm reading by her right now is good so far, but I wanted to be safe. (I can't do any LGBTQ+ stuff, sexual stuff, swearing, etc.)
I haven't read any of her books yet, but I've read they are completely clean. I would recommend checking to see if Lindsey from BFCG has reviewed any of Jamie Jo's books, though, because Lindsey puts all the content in her reviews.
hey guys just want to let yk (for the romance lovers)DONT READ spells for lost things by jena welsh
DONT READ drama by raina teleminer
DONT READ A thousand boy kisses
#1-2 has LGBTQIA+ content also Spellsfor lost things has witchcraft
#3 has a intense sex scene
Yeah, I gave up on Jena Welsh after Love and Gelato. Every time I see content warnings for intense sexual scenes it amazes me, in a bad way, how people love to add it to their works. smh
Thanks for letting us know.
✨ tazannah ✨ wrote: "I haven’t read love and gelato, but what are the CWs?"Tbh, I don't remember much about the book. All I remember is I was slightly uncomfortable at parts and I thought I read somewhere that lgbtq characters were added in later books. Take in mind that I am a squeaky clean reader, relatively speaking, and most people I'm gr friends with love it. It's what I assume would be a typical YA contemporary romance.

He really liked Metro 2033 which would be a no for me on a few different elements, and The Three Body Problem too. But I don't like anything scary 😂
I want to get him something he'll enjoy, even if I wouldn't read it.
