Bookmark Challenge

This challenge is for everyone to share their bookmarks!

You can participate by taking a picture of the bookmark you're currently using, your favorite bookmark, or your bookmark collection, and share it with the group!

Once everyone has shared, we'll make a poll to see which bookmarks are the best, and we will post the best, and four runners-up under the group's photo section.

This challenge was the idea of the member Sambhavi.

You can add an image by clicking on the little blue words above a comment box that says "(some html is ok)" and there you can see it says how to add an image.

Please make sure they are appropriate!

Wow, that's beautiful, Sambhavi! You must have had those in mind when you thought of this challenge :)

That's a good question.
It doesn't have to be all hand drawn, but try to make them unique. Even my boomark collection isn't all hand drawn, but I have added some of my own unique touches to each of them. I'll post pictures of them tomorrow when I have access to my computer, to use the goodreads website to post the pictures, just because I find it a bit easier.
So to answer your question, if all you have, or all you use are bookmarks that you didn't make yourself, you can post them, just make sure that they aren't the same as anyone else's, and you should be fine. This challenge isn't about who is the best artist, it's about sharing what matters to you. It shows how unique we all are, and it can give others inspiration for their own collection.

Here is my bookmark collection!



The yellow one all the way on the bottom right is the one I'm currently using. The two purple ones to the left of it are my favorites. A few of the ones I have are from a really long time ago, like the ones made of post-its that you can see all the way on the left. As you can see I didn't make some of them myself, namely all of the ones along the top, and some of the others too. But the purple one that has the string on it, I made that string, but not the bookmark. The bookmark I bought. And the one to the left of it I colored in. I think I got most of the not-handmade ones from like being handed out at like the library or something, like years ago. I don't really remember. The one I'm currently using was sent to me by my pen pal and irl friend Ainsley, who is normally really crafty, but I think she just printed it out, and I put the monarch butterfly sticker on it myself. It is also one of my favorites.

Anyway, all the bookmarks posted so far have looked really great, and I can't wait to see more!

I just prefer normal books to ebooks, and I figure, there's a library, so why not use it?

Oh, I thought you meant that since you don't use bookmarks you use ebooks. I guess I just assumed that because I know a lot of people that only do ebooks. (Which imo is weird so ha.) I could never just remember page numbers. I have too much stuff going on in my brain for that..
Oh and I just realized that my last name is in the picture... oops.
I doubt most people will notice though.

We have to post the picture on any other website (I used Pinterest). After that in the chat box, use the image tag that you can find after clicking on (some html is ok)...
For the image address copy paste the link from the other website in the chat box....
I am confused if it's the image address or link that is copied... Can someone else clarify?

Okay so you don't have to post your picture anywhere, but in order for it to work with the goodreads formatting, your picture needs to have a URL. That means it can either be from somewhere online or it can be from goodreads. What I usually do, is post it to the 'more pictures' section of my profile, (which works if you're on the goodreads website) and then from there copy the address and throw it into the below formula:
<*img src="URL GOES HERE"/*>
Without the **
Also, you can always take it off your profile after.
But hopefully that helped?
And this is just the basic way to get it into the actual comment so that people can view it without having to click anything. You can also just have a link to the picture if it's on a website or your google drive or whatever, (which is actually what I did at first, and then later I added the actual picture directly into the comment) and that also works, just make sure it's viewable to everyone and that we wont get an error message when we try to click on it.

I use bookmarks but not in a way you'd think.. yk i use napkins, papers, blankets, glasses, I even dog ear the pages sometimes (extreme cases) I have a sniff and scratch one tho (oh no I just realized it doesn't smell anymore, it used to smell like leaves and cinnamon ::::((((()
