I am old enough to remember her as Secretary of State. She always seemed poised, gracious, and so darn smart! She does not come across as abrasive and arrogant as so many people ("influencers") do today.

As I learned more about her life, I realized that she did not have it easy, but her upbringing was such that she was able to rise above the prejudice and darker times in her life to reach for and accomplish much. She is even a very talented classical pianist as well--quite well-rounded! I am not sure, but I think she is also a Christian.

She has a short video-interview on her IG account dated February 16 that is worth watching.

(Well, I can't say I've ever done *that*, but I have read The Queen's Thief series *several* times since discovering it during COVID. I know what you mean--sometimes the stories just draw us in and keep beckoning us to return home.)
