Chilly days, longer nights, dry leaves rustling, maybe even a fire in the fireplace. Definitely incentive to cozy up with a good book! No matter what's in store for you this month, I hope it includes some good reads. What are you reading in November? Post here -- any book, any genre welcome

I just picked up A Spindle Splintered from the library yesterday so that's what I'll be starting next. I really loved The Once and Future Witches, which is the only other of Alix E. Harrow's books I've read, so I'm looking forward to it.

Last week I finished reading The Hammer of Thor to my fifth grader and we just started The Ship of the Dead to finish up the trilogy. And I decided my first grader is probably ready for a bedtime chapter book so I started The Witches with her this week (spouse and I alternate nights to put each kid to bed, so I'm reading to them every other night).

Jukaschar I just started reading A Psalm for the Wild-Built for another group I'm participating in. I'm looking very much forward to continuing the Daevabad trilogy and I'll try to fit in Nemesis Games as well as reading both BotM.

I hope November will be a bit better in terms of reading than October. I didn't read nearly as much as I wanted.

I started Age of Death by Michael J. Sullivan, a group read for a different Goodreads group, and I will be reading book 2 in the Daevabad trilogy later this month. I have a few more things on deck—we’ll see how the month goes.

MadProfessah (madprofesssah) | 174 comments I have a BUNCH of stuff in my Kindle but I really need to read some dead tree books first🔥.

I'm reading Wanderers by Chuck Wendig. It's a real tome, but this epidemic-related plotline reads well. I'm almost halfway through, and there are enough twists and subplots that I still don't know where we're going. It's as much a study of how society reacts to the situation as it is a story of the contagion itself.

I read A Spindle Splintered last night in one sitting - it is short!

Browsing the stacks at the library I grabbed a few things that looked interesting, so I plan to start The Past Is Red by Catherynne M. Valente next.

MadProfessah (madprofesssah) | 174 comments I’ve come thisclose to picking up WANDERERS so I’d love to hear what you think about it? I’ve never read any Wendig before but I have a huge (physical) TBR pile: INHIBITOR PHASE by Alastair Reynolds, SHAPE by Jordan Ellenberg, THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF ADDIE LA RUE by VS Schwab and THE MADNESS OF CROWDS by Louise Penny.

Abs that doesn’t even begin to address my Kindle TBR *shudder*

Lindsey | 415 comments I'm finishing up Ancillary Justice with my book club and then we're moving on to Radiance by Catherynne M. Valente. I also started A Spindle Splintered yesterday, anticipating finishing it tonight. My other book club is reading Nudge: The Final Edition, which I am enjoying so far.

I'm also on a quest to finish most of the books I've started by the end of the year, so my goal is to finish The Poppy War, We Have Always Been Here, and Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed this month.

Catherynne M. Valente over here too! I finished The Past Is Red and really enjoyed it. Now I'm starting Binti: The Complete Trilogy, which I'm really looking forward to - have heard so many great things about it!

I really enjoyed the Binti trilogy! I don’t know exactly what I was expecting, but it wasn’t what I got (and I mean that in a good way). Intriguing characters, including truly alien aliens, and thought-provoking themes, wrapped up in a compelling story.

I’ve had a lot of distractions in real life keeping me from my books, but I did finally finish Age of Death by Michael J. Sullivan, 8.5/10. The disjointed nature of my reading took away from my enjoyment of the book, I think, but the world-building continues to be excellent and the story is solid. I’m anxious to see how all the threads get woven together in the final book, which I likely won’t read till sometime in December.

Next up is The Kingdom of Copper by S.A. Chakraborty for our group series read.

After that I have several books I hope to get to before the end of the month. We’ll see how successful I am.

Binti: The Complete Trilogy was wonderful! Agreed that it wasn't what I expected but in the very best way. Definitely recommended.

I'm taking a nonfiction break now and reading Mary Roach's latest book, Fuzz: When Nature Breaks the Law. She's one of my favorite popular science writers and so far this one is just as engaging (and funny) as her others.

Random (rand0m1s) | 1247 comments After some false starts and fizzles on a handful of books late last month and early this month, I ended up finally picking up The Atrocity Archives, which I am enjoying so far.

If I enjoy this, I'll likely just work my way through the series.

I finished Fuzz: When Nature Breaks the Law a few days ago and have just started Hench for next month's discussion. It's already got me giggling.

I just got notified that my pre-order of Leviathan Falls is loading on my kindle so that's next up and I can't wait. Would folks be interested in a dedicated discussion thread, given that we read the Expanse books together as a group a while back? I'll put up a thread in the series folder if there is interest.

Its literally downloading to my phone as I type.

I'd be game for a thread for the book if others are as well. Though I want to finish with The Fuller Memorandum before I start it.

I plan to get this once I make up my mind between the Kindle version or the hardcover (I have the other books in paperback or hardcover), and I am interested in having a thread to discuss it.

I hope to finish The Kingdom of Copper tonight!
