Alli is badass. She just killed that guy with a letter opener. Freaking awesome. I dare say that Faelan and the Unseelie general were impressed.

I am starting to think that Faelan hasn’t had it very easy since he was sorted into the Unseelie Court. Every Unseelie that he comes across bullies him or treats him horribly. And I can’t believe that the general is whipping him. I get the feeling that Faelan has been very alone since becoming part of the Unseelie Court. It’s kind of sad.

I wonder what the reason is for Alli going all crazy and acting possessed and bloodthirsty when she kisses Faelan. Whenever they share a moment she seems to lose herself and fall into some weird possessed mindset wanting to kill whoever interrupts them. It’s weird. Is someone possessing her? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I honestly don’t know who to trust right now. The Queen of the Unseelie Court was kind enough to Alli but I still can’t figure her out. And now she has talked the Seelie Court into going against the outcast fae. And Ruby is like the leader of the outcast fae and he also has been kind to Alli but I have a bad feeling that he is not a good guy in this story.

So the Sanctuary is more like a city for outcast fae. That’s kind of cool.

It’s weird that Alli was able to grow some berries and they were able to stop the madness that those outcast fae had. And it seemed like someone was controlling them. (hide spoiler)]

Though I wonder why Ruby would have had Drake take her there in the first place? Was she supposed to kill him as some sort of test? And if so, a test for what? Her magic?

Wow, I can’t believe that Drake suggested that Alli and Faelan go into each court and release their magic to kill thousands of fae. I had really liked Drake but that put a sour taste in my mouth. Granted, I can understand how he would want vengeance against the courts since he was cast out and his life was irrevocably altered because of it. He didn’t come off as that bitter about it before but maybe he is holding on to it too deeply to realize.

(view spoiler)[I wonder what the oracle and the vampire fae were fighting about? It seems like the oracle is keeping some kind of information from Alli and the vampire fae doesn’t approve of the training that the oracle is doing with Alli. I am really curious about what they are fighting over.

I have no idea what happened with the whole “submitting to your magic” thing. I don’t really know what to make of Devyn. Is she the last of her kind? I am hoping that her behavior is only tough love because Alli doesn’t need any more people with their own agendas betraying her.

Oh shit! I did not expect that. The Unseelie Queen is Alli’s mother. I guess it makes sense. She was awfully kind to her when she was at the Unseelie Court. She even gave Alli her own swords and shield when she left. Holy crap. I still can’t believe it.

Overall, I really liked this book. I think that there was a lot of action and a lot going on. There were so many revelations in this one. I’m really excited for the third book to come out next month. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I agree with all of this. I was really curious how her magic works. Now that we know she has both Seelie and Unseelie magic I am curious how it is going to impact her. And why isn't one of her magics trying to consume the other one like when two people with different magics try to be together romantically? I guess it is balance, but if it doesn't work for two separate people then how can it work for her by herself? I am also glad that she isn't blindly trusting everyone. She definitely thinks the best of some people but she is definitely cautious. (hide spoiler)]
