Mako | 2 comments This book is so obscure that I haven't been able to find it because I can't remember the author, title, or any of the main character's names but hopefully someone knows what I am talking about. I got it from the library and it was supposed to be the first book in a series as it left on some sort of cliffhanger that I'll explain.

Physical details of the book:
- I have a memory of the publishing date being 2001 but I could be wrong.
- The cover had a giant hummingbird like creature with one of the teens riding it.
-The background was a dark teal color.

Other plot details:
-The group of teens are scattered across the country and at first they do not know they are suddenly transported to the future. People around them just suddenly vanish and they start seeing dates from the future appear on plaques or newspapers.
-As I mentioned it is a multi POV and it changed each chapter.
-In one of the chapters, there is a girl and a boy who are at a concert together, I can't remember the reason why.
-The girl and boy from the concert later get in a car and start travelling somewhere for some answers. The girl notices a weird spiral tattoo starting to form on the boy (I think chest/neck area and colored a light blue). This tattoo grows bigger as the book progresses.
-Since the teens are transported 75 years into the future, the last person born is now 75 years old, and she was named Treasure. Treasure is the only character name I remember, and she had a male partner and they loved each other very much. The two lived on the beach and some of the teens met up with them.
-There is a group of people in a South American country that I think was either Argentina or Chili that celebrate being young and drink elixirs and do things to make them more youthful. One of the teens walks in on this place and everyone is astounded on how young they look.
-This teen in South America later hitches a ride on the hummingbird creature I previously mentioned and is taken to the United States.

Spoiler/Plot Twist of the book:
-In the end it is revealed that the gods of different religions were going to fight to see who was the best and they were going to do that with a blank slate and 5/6 contenders. The blank slate is why the world stopped repopulating/reproducing. The 5/6 contenders are the teens that are transported to the future.
-The cliffhanger is that the teens never actually fight but were going to go with their respective god to train for the doomsday or whatever it was called.

Anyway this is a really weird book, I listed everything I remember about it. If someone happens to find it I will be greatly surprised. Good luck to all that try.

Mako | 2 comments Well maybe posting this gave me luck because I made a Goodreads account for this, then browsed YA Dystopian and found the book.

It is called "So This is How it Ends" by Tui T Sutherland

(Ironically one of my favorite authors thanks to Wings of Fire).
