An author with the same name as mine claimed my book.

I added my book to goodreads and the author is incorrect for the book that I added on here. He has the exact name as me but he is the incorrect author. My name is Philip Higgins. There is another man named Philip Higgins on here and my book is under his author page. How do I fix this?

The same thing happened to me a few years ago. I was then told that, in the case of two authors having the same name on Goodreads, that the second author (more recent one) would have two spaces between his first and last name, while the first one would have only one space. Since then, it seems to work.

Have you claimed your Author Profile on Goodreads? Your author info and his would be very different, and your ISBN will have "you" (same name) as the author of your book.

As for adding a space in between your first and last name, I guess for search purposes —maybe they'll do that for you? Seems unnecessary, since books are attached to authors by ISBN, and the Author Profile claiming process is pretty careful to identify you as "you".

(I'll bet part of the problem is that the other author hasn't claimed his Author Profile on Goodreads either! If he did, it would clarify which books he authored and which ones he did not, i.e. yours)
