English I chose one called perception v reality, I read all the books last year for preperation and annotated them, tho I got them off my friend so they were already annotated.

I STARTED WRITING A NEW STORY AGAIN:
Chapter One:
Ariadne, Princess of Crete had always heard the stories of her father’s cases of cruelty, she had even witnessed some of them herself, or at least heard them recounted cheerfully by her Father, King Minos of crete. He always considered himself a righteous man, one who could do no wrong. Such a man could not exist, but he thought so, for in his eyes, he was that man.

She had seen how he made kingdoms bow and grovel, how he forced kingdoms into submission. Ariadne admired the skill, the power, and she had always dreamed of one day being able to harbour tha power herself. To not bow in submission but to be the one who people bow to in submission.



For, as her father often called one of his greatest achievements, the almighty Zeus, ruler of all gods answered Minos and sent plague and famine raining down on Athens. All in response to the death of her brother, Androgeus.
She imagined the screams of parents as children, sickened and weak, took their last breaths, imagining them grieving as her family had for Androgeus.
Ariadne of course was devastated by his death, for he was always kind to her, but his death brought another barrier of restriction down, she longed
A city once thriving, once so strong began to crumble alongside the many corpses of its citizens. They were weakened, they had no choice, they could not fight against the might of the gods. In a way, maybe that was what her Father had hoped for.

Most kings would have sought wealth, power, or a means of ensuring they remained indebted to them and loyal. Her father chose sacrifice, ensuring that every year, seven athenian maidens and seven athenian youths would travel the seas to Crete, to defeat the thing that threatened to shatter Crete, and her family as a whole. Really, they were there as sacrifice, as a way to keep the creature content and fed. It was a permanent punishment, a way to ensure the death of Androgeus would not be forgotten, and the city would be unable to forget its sins.

The thing that when it hungered as the annual time of feeding drew near, made the castle walls and floors shake so hard, she thought they would crumble, leaving the castle crushed, and her family alongside it. He somehow knew when the time was near, despite his imprisonment far below in the labyrinth, a place so confusing and dizzying that none who entered it ever managed to return to find daylight again. It was a maze, a maze designed to never let anyone leave again, having the potential to drive them mad in the process.


She heard the cries of the monster, the minotaur, a name that constantly brought anger to her Father’s eyes, sadness from her Mother’s and disdain from her siblings.

For he was her brother.
He was named Asterion, though that name has long since willingly forgotten, for it is easier to imprison a monster , one named for what it was than it was to imprison something human. By doing this, they had dehumanised any parts of him, and turned him into the vengeful angry monster he was today.

Based on greek mythology since It is usually taken for granted that Ariadne fell in love with the brave Theseus and wanted him to take her away and marry her. i will write it as though she used him to get out and arranged for him to leave her on Naxos so she could live out her own life.
