Florence | 1 comments Non-fiction November first timer here! I'm gonna read the first book under each prompt for sure. The others are more aspirational :)

COLLECTION
(1) The Right to Sex: Feminism in the Twenty-First Century
Essay collection on sex and feminism

INDUSTRY
(1) The Secret Life of Groceries: The Dark Miracle of the American Supermarket
Just finished and have really enjoyed it! A look into the (mostly US-centric) grocery industry. Each chapter follows one person in a part of the supply chain. Lorr worked in a Whole Foods manning the fish counter "for research" – talk about dedication!

(2) Kleptopia: How Dirty Money Is Conquering the World
On global kleptocracy. One of the short-listed books of my book club this month, but heard it's quite a complicated and confusing read with lotsss of names to follow and jumping plot lines.

(3) Putinomics: Power and Money in Resurgent Russia
I have close to nil knowledge on Russian politics and am keen to learn more. Feels that it's so complex there's a whole industry running behind it.

(4) Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business
Classic text that is still relevant today

STYLE
(1) In the Dream House
A memoir written in a very creative, hybrid-genre style

(2) How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy
The cover looks stylish to me!

TREATMENT
(1) Lost Connections: Uncovering the Real Causes of Depression - and the Unexpected Solutions
Hari argues that the real causes of depression are in the way we are living today. Reviews seem very polarised for this one...

(2) The Secret Thoughts of Successful Women
I have the worst case of imposter syndrome especially in the workplace, hope this book can help me tackle it.

(3) The Highly Sensitive Person: How to Thrive When the World Overwhelms You
Read a summary of this book and am definitely a HSP, now I want to read the full book.

Ron So I added a new book for my Industry challenge:

Queerbaiting and Fandom: Teasing Fans through Homoerotic Possibilities

I discovered this on Twitter and it sounded pretty interesting. After doing some research on it I came to find positive reviews and it's a University Press book too which is perfect since I like those types of publishers.

As one who is all too familiar with the concept of queer baiting, I'm looking forward to reading an educational standpoint on the subject.
