Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

This book was good, but it wasn't my favorite. The plot was interesting: a girl discovers she had magic and her entire life changes because of it. She is separated from her best friend and thrust into a whole new world. The plot was good and the writing was alright, but the main characters seemed kind of boring to me. I wasn't a huge fan of their personalities, but I did like some of the side characters.

This was a 3.5/5 for me. I like the authors other books, but I really just didn't love the characters she wrote into this book. I really like characters with a lot of sarcasm and humor, and the main characters in this book didn't have that. I'd still recommend it as a decent fantasy read, it just wasn't for me.
