The Comfort of Monsters question

The movement of the plot lies in the growth/ healing of the main character. This story does not provide the fairytale ending of closure, we are left, like many families, to deal with an open wound of unanswered questions by an unreliable narrator. This story drives home the point that while the past cannot be changed, even though our memories of it can, the future is still waiting to be written. Where the plot does provide movement is the secondary plot of the missing men who disappear during the same time.
