Hello I can't remember a set of four or five books I read in 1990/a that were also on TV about some schoolboys growing up in 1920s I think. I am sure they were called seasons - spring, summer winter etc can't find trace anywhere can anyone help. Thank you

That sounds like the series A Dance to the Music of Time by Anthony Powell. There are twelve books in the series, but they have been published in 4 volumes as Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The main characters are teenagers at public school during the first book A Question of Upbringing.
And when i say public school, I mean it in the UK sense, of a very expensive private school.
