I read this book in my grade school library between 1972-76. A group of children had a playhouse that was too hot in the summer and rigged a large propeller to it as a fan, but when they started it the playhouse began to fly. They were led by a character named Arabella who was very bossy.

The Enchanted Playhouse does not seem right. I don’t remember this book as having been magic based.
I'll keep looking!Was it a playhouse on the ground, not a treehouse? Do you remember if it was described as a playhouse or something else, like a clubhouse?
I believe it was on the ground in a field, perhaps. It “belonged” to a group of children. It might have been described as a clubhouse…can’t recall specifically.
No. The flying aspect was the main thrust of the story which led to the children’s adventures.
No. That synopsis doesn’t ring true for my memory. Also I would have guessed this book was written/published closer to the late 50s or 60s based on the attitudes and behaviors of the kids. And I believe the Arabella character was pretty prominent to the story.
Were the children friends or siblings?Were they a mix of boys and girls?
I can’t specifically recall that there were siblings in the group. Some of them could have been. I’m fairly certain it was a mix of boys and girls.

The C.M. Turley book is only 24 pages and is likely not the chapter book that I am remembering.
Do you remember if it was set in the US?Did it take place out in the countryside or in a town or suburbs?
I believe it was in the US. And the kids were probably friends/neighbors of a small town or suburbs
Well, that’s it. I am amazed. And obviously some of my memories were faulty as it is described as a treehouse in the synopsis.

It was a challenge, lol.I finally found it by searching Archive.org. I tried a lot of combinations before I got a result by searching "Arabella," "bossy" and "propeller."
